I bought the V15 as a replacement for an old Titan because my wife insists on doing the vacuuming her way. She weighs 90 pounds soaking wet and is 80 yrs old and still going strong. The motor end is heavy to her. I think so myself. There is no printed manual included, a serious defect for a high dollar premium vacuum, as she is not tech literate. Our house is quite large, so one or more extra batteries will be necessary. It's a good machine, but not the right choice for everyone. I'm not certain it was the right choice for her. This may turn out to be one of those "my bad" situations.

I love and hate the dust illuminating light on the floor vacuuming attachment. I can really see all the dust & dirt, but that then compels me to keep vacuuming. It is quiet while I keep on toiling away. My work isn’t even cut short by a dying battery since I purchased a backup battery which is a cinch to change compared to my old cordless Dyson. Thank you Dyson for that design impovement - no more unscrewing and screwing back in, no more stripped screws or stripped screw holes. The suction is great, and the filtration flawless, although I may purchase a HEPA filter as a backup.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good suction, very good maneuverability helped a lot by the absence of an annoying power cord, good enough ergonomics (a trigger lock would be great), battery life a bit less than stellar, OK filtration, relatively low noise.

It's our first Dyson, and we really like it. Great suction, and like the light, but boy it shows where all the dirt is that you never see. We used our daughters V11 and that's what drove us to purchase a new Dyson vacuum.

It's a terrific vacuum, however, when you remove the wand to use the built in crack and crevice tool, to put it back together you have to first remove the crack and crevice tool from the head unit, push it back into the want until it clicks, then put the wand back onto the head unit until it clicks. You cannot simple re assemble it the way you took it apart.

The V16 Detect wasn’t for us. The drawbacks are that it doesn’t stand on its own, the dirt bin is very small, and the dirt bin is difficult to remove if you have arthritis. Additionally, the vacuum does not have a balanced weight distribution that makes it feel heavier than it actually is when you’re carrying it.
We have a dog that sheds 365 days a year. One of the selling points of this model was its suction power. The Dyson wasn’t much better than the 4 year old low end vacuum that it was replacing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
