I bought this about a month ago, after spending about a month trying to decide which one to buy. Finally decided to go with this model and am very happy. I was a little concerned about the weight after reading other reviews but the weight is not a problem. The vacuum seems to glide on all hard surfaces. There is an adjustment for carpeted areas. The attachments are easy to switch, the suction is very good and I really like the green light that shows all of the fine dirt particles (that our eyes don’t see). The battery life lasts so I am able to vacuum the entire house, but our home isn’t large and all on one level. And, it is simple to empty.
This is my 3rd Dyson, I love it, very light, truly gets every speck of dust gone, easy usage, love the attachments, long battery usage, Easy to move excellent !!!!!!
I bought this for my hard floors, where it has matched my expectations. When I tried it on carpet I was amazed at how much it pulled out of seemingly clean carpet.
I had a corded Dyson for years and was very happy with it. Now with this cordless version I'm very pleased with it's pet hair pickup and fine dust pick-up.
It's got higher suction but is heavy. Don't like the trigger. Not as maneuverable as I would wish. Worried it will have the same electronic failure my V12 had forcing me to search for a new cyclone unit. It it does this will be my last Dyson. Also it came with a supposed upgraded new wand configuration that Dyson Experts on chat did not know about and neither they nor the Dyson videos described it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It takes vacuuming to a different level of clean. It cleans better than my expensive upright vacuum. I have 2 huskies that are in shredding season. I used my larger vacuum to pick up the bulk of the fur. Not only did the Dyson clean faster, it also showed me the fur ,dander and dirt that the other vacuum left behind. I tried the Dyson alone and it completely cleaned the carpet and hardwood in 2 passes. The expensive upright couldn’t do as good a job with 4 passes. The carpet had fur still on it with 4 passes. With the Dyson it was totally clean in 2 passes. Incredible machine.. .
