This vacuum immediately showed the shortcomings of my older Dyson. A second pass was performed after the initial pass with he older vacuum and twice as much dirt, fine particles, and hair was removed. The unit is easy to assemble and operate. Lightweight and accesses tight areas fine including underneath low profile furniture. Runtime is adequate though charging from a low battery can take several hours so you may need to plan out your patterns/schedule depending on the areas to be cleaned. You might have to alter your grip a little to make it comfortable when using but that is my only critique. A great product!

I had the slim version of this vacuum prior to purchasing. I loved the slim but was unable to order replacement parts (not happy with Dyson about that but they do have a good vacuum). I thought I was just ordering a bigger version of the slim but there are some major differences I didn’t realize. This vacuum has a trigger pull instead of an on button. You literally have to hold the trigger the whole time you vacuum. I actually got a blister the first time I used it and now have a callus. To me that’s a down grade. The slim has button you push to turn on and off and it stays on until you decide to turn it off. Also the motorhead with the laser on the slim you can turn the laser on and off. On this one you can not turn the laser off. The laser is nice but I don’t like it on all the time (it can drive a person mad to see all the dust 🙈). One other thing is the weight. I didn’t realize how light the slim was until I picked it up offer using this new vacuum. The slim feels like a toothpick compared to this one. If I had to do it over again I’m not sure I would have purchased this vacuum. I either would have just replaced the slim with another slim or bought a newer version that has the button to turn on and off. This is still a good vacuum. It does a good job but in my opinion it is a downgrade from the slim.

I bought the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute. I did not know that there was a Dyson V15 Detect Extra until after the vacuum shipped to me. The Detect V15 Extra, in my case, was the same price as the Detect V15 Absolute, which means that all the attachments or accessories come with the vacuum. I only got a few accessories and would have liked some of the other accessories but I am not savvy on the computer and didn't know how to look it up.
Still, I love my Dyson V15 Detect Absolute, and am so glad I bought it. At first use, the vacuum with the fluffy cleaner for tile and wood floors seemed a little squirrely. I liked that it maneuvered around table legs and corners effortlessly, but it was difficult to control. I also had to wear gloves because the upper part of my thumb was in a position when trying to control the vacuum that dug into the trigger handle, causing some pain and rubbed a small amount of skin off. After a couple of uses I learned how to use it more effectively and don't need to use the gloves anymore. I love the glowing green laser light that shows every speck of the finest dust. Fortunately, Dyson picks up that fine dust, because of the Hepa Filter, with no problem! The Dyson also does an excellent job on carpets, removing the wand and using the vacuum as a hand-held vacuum, etc. I bought a couple of other popular vacuums before buying the Dyson. I was not happy with the other vacuums at all. I love the Dyson. For my last comment, I want to mention that I did not think the cordless was going to be that big of a deal. It is!!! I was constantly plugging in and unplugging but it did not bother me that much because I had never used a cordless vacuum. It is a significant difference!!!

Great Vacuum That Needs a Tool to Clean Itself

We have tile flooring throughout and the light confirms that the particles have been removed. I love it! All of the attachments are easy to use. Emptying the canister is easy, but completely cleaning it is almost impossible. A great addition to this wonderful tool would be a brush that would remove dust from the canister after emptying. I haven't found a suitable solution, so my review is not 5-stars.

The instructions for assembly were lacking. The vaccum stick does not just snap together like the picture shows. We had to do a search on the internet and find discussions from other people that have had the same issue in order to figure out how to assemble it. Once we got it together it has been working fine.
