Great Colored Screen

Long battery life, and all of the other features I like in the Garmin Edge series including the ability to have different profiles for different bikes. I have five bikes and therefore use five different screens, one for each bike. The only thing I do not like about the 1050 is that it is pretty heavy in comparison to past Edge computers due to the larger battery.
Overall the 1050 is a great bike computer with some amazing features. Only problem have encountered so far is having trouble connecting automatically to two different power meters (worked perfectly with 830). Every ride have to manually select to connect the correct PM. Battery life so far has been great, would recommend if in market for a new computer.
The screen is very clear and the new Edge 1050 was so easy to set compared with my previous experience. The screen seems to be much faster and the battery lasts a long time. It was very east to get my speed, cadence and heart rate monitor added. Impressed
So the screen, the brightness, the speaker, the touch, the battery life are all great. the downside, you can not use live strava segments when navigating a route. You can use one or the other but not both at the same time. This is a deal breaker and it is such a shame as the device is top of the line. Spent hours online with Chat support with no resolve. This is a major feature that works on other head units,
Fast responsive screen. Navigation route execution is way faster. Grade measurements were good on a sunny day but on a cloudy day even with good maps response the grade numbers did not update reliably.
Pros 1) Bright and sharp enough display 2) Battery lasts ~30% longer than the 1040 with its display is at maximum brightness Cons 1) Displays "Failed to get Basemap version" after removing or adding any map 2) Auto reroute does not work 3) Voice course guidance does not work 4) Failed to load map data using Garmin Express on a MacBook Pro M1
I have been a Garmin user for years. I find it just works like you expect it to. And I love the new bell function. I get a kick out of it every time I use it.
