The most comprehensive bike computer on market

I am very happy with the Garmin Edge 1050. The screen is excellent—it looks great even in direct sunlight—and the touch response feels fast and precise.
The navigation, maps, and ride data are very comprehensive. I also really like the range of metrics and data you can view while training.
Integration with Garmin sensors and accessories works seamlessly, and for anyone who cycles regularly, it is a highly capable and reliable device.
After using it, I am very satisfied with the purchase. It is a premium cycling computer, but in my experience, it has been well worth it.
The screen colors look excellent—I love them—but because of the high brightness (nits), the battery drains faster than on the Edge 1040. Still, it lasts long enough to handle rides ranging from 3 to 8 hours over several days. This Garmin Edge 1050 would be perfect if there were a solar version and it included a wind sensor, since it seems to have everything else.

Sync issues

Just had my device for a week and it worked perfectly until today. Now it do not sync and I have tried all your nice suggestions but no. Not happy.

Great BUT A Learning Process As An Upgrade

Before I get to what I don’t like… this IS a great unit… but coming from a 1030 some of the software changes aren’t a fav… the biggest one being that the map is not in the “rotation” of screens without going through the Home Screen and navigating TO it… I am sure I will learn to be ok with it… but as I used the map feature most of the time… I also do NOT love that you need an emulator if you want to access the file system while using a Mac…it’s 2026… can we get past this already? OR should I say go BACK to how it worked on the 1030??? it’s not ideal for me…

There’s a reason this computer is the best!

Having had this Garmin for about a month now, I can already say this is the best cycling computer I’ve ever had. I was looking for a wide array of features, customization, and data tracking and this computer goes above and beyond my expectations. The touch screen works well even in rainy weather, the virtual bell is so cool, and one of my favorite features is being able to control menu selection or other features using the shifter buttons via ant plus.
My only issues I’ve been having is the connection between my lights and my Garmin goes in and out often over the course of a ride so my lights sometimes go on and off without input.

Coming from a. Edge 840. Great screen size and color. Not ideal for my tri bike setup but great for trainer and regular bike rides.

WE bought new 1050's about 3 weeks ago, just prior to going on a self guided cycling tour in southern spain, and we loved them! great route and climbing information, as well as rerouting capability, as was needed due to some road construction detours... great screen info and bigger than my older edge 520+

I have used the Edge 1050 several times now it works great once you figure out how to use it, I wish they would send a operator manual with it.
