Old bugs still lingering

Similar issues on sensors auto disconnecting with no resolution. Device reset, remove and adding sensors several times doesn’t help. Annoying issue for a high end product like this isn’t acceptable

This is my first bike computer. I am new to the cycling experience and enjoy using the Edge 1050 and its "bells and whistles."

upgrade from 1040
on August 23, 2024

Had the 1040 for a year and only upgraded due to the brighter screen. Features are great, screen is very bright when you turn it up. Battery does not compare to the amazing 1040 but I don't mind charging it a couple times a week. Would really like to see a front light intergrated in with the unit but that is my only suggestion.

The Display and overall is amazing.

I like how it powers up quickly, the display is wonderful and easy to see, and I can arrange the screens in the order I want them. The unit quickly connects to my phone and responds quickly when I touch the screen. Overall, Garmin 1050 is a beautiful cycling computer.

% Grade not working
on August 21, 2024
Posted by: Smith1957
I paid top dollar for the new 1050 to replace my 1030. Grade % is not working, shows 2% when I know it’s 10%. Unit is heavy and the bell is not loud enough. It’s joke. Garmin - why didn’t you test the unit with riders to identify he Grade % bug. Garmin is not a reliable company, gave up on vector power pedals, total junk:

A mistake
on August 21, 2024

I purchased the Edge 1050 to upgrade from my 10 year old Garmin 800 which was starting to fail. Unfortunately, the 1050 has been a problem from the start. For example, it spontaneously stops recording mid-ride, or toggles between stopping and starting dozens of times when i am not touching it. It isn't possible to turn the power off, even though that is supposed to be possible. I think Garmin tried to get too fancy with this one, and it didn't work. I have decided to return it.

Lots of bugs
on August 20, 2024

Bought this two weeks ago, had a software bug so Garmin sent me a new one. This one works better but still doesn’t update Training Status. Seems petty but for the price of these I’d expect it to be better.

Poor Market Awareness
on August 18, 2024

I was exceedingly disappointed when mounting my new Garmin to my Dogma. Somehow, Garmin engineers failed to realize that they had made the computer too long and it could not easily be placed in a stem computer arm. It will not rotate completely with adequate clearance if you’re using arrow bars. Looking online it looks as though Garmin is not going to address this issue until October of this year. So I guess I’ll have to put it in the box wait till October and go back to using my Wahoo.
