Just got a bike and added this. Integrates with heart monitor, power meter, cadence, rear tail camera and radar and front light. Best feature may be controlling music. Takes a while to learn how to customize and use widgets but it’s coming. I’ve uploaded a few old courses I plan to follow. The Bell may be the only reason to buy. Way more features than I have tried but nice to see anything you want. Notifications are good too.
I bought the first 1050 and after 1 use it would not power on. It was replaced free of charge so that was good. On the second ride with the 1050, while sitting in my accessories bag, the face shattered.
I bought my Garmin 1050 3 weeks ago and love it. It has loud speaker in it so i can here a car coming using my Varia with it. It is very bright and i can read all my stats clearly. It has so many options . You can move the settings and options on the fly if you want to change things. Just starting to learn navigation but it has a ton of options, Best Garmin ever made amazing technology.
This device is AMAZING!!!! Such an improvement over my 1030, which I also loved. At 66 years old, I love the brighter screen and I don’t have to struggle at all to see it!!! I love all the stats that you get from this device and how quickly it reacts to touch and using the buttons….. The only issue that I do have is that when warnings come up from other bikers they are very small and I can’t make out what the actual warning is !!! I am sure that his issue will be corrected by Garmin and will soon no longer be an issue Thank You, Garmin for a great product!!!!
Bought this recently after my Edge 540 gave up the ghost. First impressions: love the size, love the intuitive nature of how you can scroll through settings, etc…really enjoy how the computer sort of previews my climbs in real time…also, recently on a gravel ride it warned me of a very sharp turn and I was able to scrub off some speed to avoid any issues. Maybe these features are common to all newer bike computers, but I really have appreciated everything so far. The colors and screen are very vivid and easy to read as well.
The new update to my bike computer is absolutely worth it! The screen visibility is fantastic, whether in direct sunlight or cloudy conditions—even with sunglasses on.
Upgraded from the 1030. Brighter screen and quick access to screens and controls is great. Fast route integration with Ride with GPS. All in all a really good updated Edge. I wish there was a way to select POIs on a large scale so for example if I wanted to see coffee shops in the town I ride theough, they are there to simply ride to bia real time navigation. Instead you have to search for one, select it and route to it and stop the nav route youre on. Someday maybe.
