Always problems with software updates

Your device is a good one…when: 1.- You don’t experience connection issues to update your software, which is very frequent. I can’t understand how a tech company like Garmin obliges its users to shut down, reset, uninstall etc for an ordinary operation such as software update. 2.- If you have a good sight. A percentage of riders suffer from a not optimal sight, which can be worsened when….well, riding. There’s sun , shades, bumps, vibrations out there, and to create such a nice device like 1050 only to end up with small letters and numbers, I don’t understand. It looks like your engineers are all 25 with a perfect sigh and sitting in a lab… Go and try out there with a little presbicia on a gravel terrain.
The most important thing for a GPS is to facilitat

The most important thing for a GPS is to facilitate navigation. It should be easy to load courses in, it isn't easy and one at a time sucks.. It should be easy to off-load rides, and I haven't figured that yet. I miss the days when I could just access the Courses and Activities folders by USB cable and make computer to GPS transfers - That was simple and straight forward. All the other stuff is just bells and whistles.
I recently replaced my Garmin 800 with the Garmin 1050. The most noticeable difference is the very clear displays, due mostly to the larger screen. My big disappointment is that the odometer readings canot be edited.
Screen screen screen - the reason I went from the 1040 to the 1050 was the screen. It is so much brighter but it is also way more responsive. No repeated tapping of menu items, it just responds as you would think. You are going to pay a hit from battery life due to the brighter screen. The 1050 is a touch heavier, but in the grand scheme of things it is nothing IMO.
The real game changer for me may seem trivial but the bell is amazing. I have aero bars and can not mount my favorite bell, so now a simple tap tap on the screen and I have a realistic sounding bell. Overall this GPS is fast - it is hard to describe how fast it is - there are normal delays that you have had over the years with the 1000, 1030, 1040 that are now gone
Love the new features and the display is great! Nice to be able to read what I'm looking at Always loved my Garmin products and this is another great addition!
So far, so good. Stepping up from an Edge 530, it's nice having the bigger & better screen. Battery life seems much better, too. I'm still learning all the new features, but this was a good buy during the sale.
