Over all the R300S is a very good multi-featured product. I could make a few functionality recommendations for a more user friendly. These are fresh recommendations from a purchase made just one evening before first use. The current preset should be visible in the display unless you manually tune a different station. Perhaps the FM/AM indicator could be modified to FM-X OR AM-X, where X would indicate the current Preset Location. Another enhancement would be capability to move forward and backward through Preset Locations. The 20 Preset Locations is very difficult to navigate/aggravating if you only have a few stored Preset Locations. As a "programming suggestion" upon pressing the TIME/MEM button instead of advancing through incrementally, you can advance forward or backward using the TUN+ or TUN- buttons respectively. I have rated performance "Fair" only because the AM Tuning is a bit below par. However the FM Turning is quite good close to excellent!
Thank you for this opportunity to provide this feedback.
I purchased this so I could have a small personal radio to take on walks or to the drive-in, etc. However, I've found it to be incredibly disappointing. The reception is fine, but the sound quality is terrible, even while using good earbuds (the ones that come with the radio are useless). There is a constant "white noise" and it often crackles if the wire or jack is moved (which happens all the time on a walk/run), even though the jack itself is snug. On loud or "busy" songs, the speakers often clip, even on the lowest volume setting. Speaking of volume, control on that front is also an issue. The settings work on levels rather than with a dial, and the lowest setting is still louder than my preferred headphone volume, making it uncomfortable to use. Finally, the armband is so big that I can't tighten it around my arm (I'm an average adult female). Overall a complete waste of money.
