Very good washer for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were looking for an economical replacement for a 20+ year old washer and dryer combo. We are really happy with this purchase. We were looking for a top loading washer with matching dryer and a good value. In the 10 months since we bought the pair, we couldn't have been happier. This model doesn't have the most cleaning options but they are more than adequate. And due to the fact that these are stored in a laundry closet the plain white appearance is fine and their size fits perfectly in the space.

This product can handle large loads.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 boys that get their clothes very dirty and this machine is capable of getting them clean without my assistance of additional cleaners, which saves me money and because it can handle large loads with the same results I can get my laundry done in fewer loads.

Since the first day this washer was poor due to tearing clothing due to spin cycle, we thought due to being new it would get better unfortunately it continued to tear clothing and now it stopped working after one year and two months and we don't know how to implement warranty. In attempt to fix one year and three months and this is after having a GE washer before that lasted 11 years. Help

Everything comes out twisted tightly
on February 3, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the worse washing machine I have ever used. After the spin cycle, the clothes are twisted so tightly that some items have actually torn. Even towels are so twisted that they have to be smoothed out by hand. I'm having to iron sheets and items that should be no iron. Also not enough water enters the machine to completely cover the load.

No spin cycle after wash is completed
on March 21, 2013

In my opinion the customer is always right. Due to my frustration and disappointment with my GE wash machine performance; tangling/twisting and tearing of clothes and water in rinse cycle, is too low to remove soap and no spin cycle after wash cycle. I manually by pass the rinse and reset to the wash cycle to rinse clothes, then reset machine after water drains and set machine to soak/spin cycle; who wants to waste time doing this?
Shortly after we purchased the washer I took my clothes to the laundry mat, where my good clothes did not twist, tangle or tear.
After the tech replaced the motor the washer continues to perform no differently.
I have no choice but to decline from purchasing any GE products.
My mom, grandma, aunts and me all favored GE Washer & Dryers for many years, now the buck for GE @ 72stops with me!

This washer is agressive
on June 3, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer 2 years ago and so far it has worked well. The washer is great for agressive cleaning but not so great for delicate cleaning. It is very loud going through the various cycles. Overall it washes the clothing adequately and is running trouble free for 2 years. As long as it keeps performing for at least another 8 years trouble free I will be pleased with my purchase and look to buy another GE product.

Awful Washer
on October 14, 2013

This is by far the worst washer I have ever used! No matter how I try to place the clothes evenly in the washer at its start, the washer usually manages to get the clothes all to one side which requires a person to rearrange them for proper spinning. As for the spinning, this machine does a terrible job of that, too! More times than not, I have to re-rinse, drain, and spin the clothes (especially towels--even though I only put 5 in at a time) because there are soap suds left behind, and the clothes still have more water in them than what came out. This is a terrible machine! Do not buy it!
