First of all, we have had nothing, but GE products that last us years and years. We have owned this washing machine for a few years now. It recently started breaking down. The problems seem to be minimal as in easy to fix, but caused large problems with overflowing.

Questionable Quality/Laundry Room DOWN

We've had this GE washer under 5 years and the Washer (Not GE) we had prior for almost 10 years. This GE washer makes a lot of noise and tangles clothes into a ball of knots, it also sounds like it is ripping your clothes to shreds when it goes into the rinse cycle since there is barely any water in the tub. It is now pouring out all of the water in the tub flooding the laundry room floor, Not too sure IF we will repair or replace, but probably will not be looking at GE washers if we do replace it. Poor workmanship GE, we definitely expected better quality from the respected company we have known and purchased from over the years. :-( Disappointed!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I purchased my home back in 2011, The GE GTWN3000M1WS was the Washer I purchased. We are a family of 7, and washed clothes multiple times a week. The school clothes, the daily wear, the Industrial Field, the Sports... all of it! Just recently... we noticed water leaking from washer.. but it still worked as it always has! It's 2025, I figured it is probably time to replace. I think if we just did a little tune up and what not, this washer could go another 3-4 years or so! We love this thing, and really appreciate the hard work it has done for us. I bought a newer GE, with fancy digital display, etc... I sure it holds up long and strong like this unit did. It was worth every penny, thank you GE!

Thank you so much for sharing your story and for being a loyal GE customer over the years. It’s wonderful to hear how well your washer has served your family and stood the test of time.
This model's dual-action agitator and multiple wash cycles are designed to deliver reliable cleaning performance for every type of load, while the adjustable water levels give you control to customize each wash for the best results.
Thank you again for continuing being part of the GE Appliances family.

Saves water but does not rinse clothes adequately

This is a very frustrating, annoying and aggravating machine to use. During the rinse cycle (if you wash a full load) the water level does not cover the clothes so they do not get rinsed properly. Due to the low water level it also ties dress shirts up in knots. If you stop the washer and move the dial to try to manually increase the water level to an adequate level in order to rinse clothes properly the machine is inconsistent in what it does next. Sometimes it fills up with more water and then drains without agitating or it agitates for just a few seconds and drains which wastes water. If you try to increase the water level before rinsing it sometimes fills up with far more water than you need which wastes water. You end up spending a lot of time standing by the washer watching what it is doing and vainly trying to adjust the water level, the duration of the agitation cycle, etc. If you want an eco friendly washer that saves water but does not rinse clothes properly then this is the washer for you. If however you want a washer that rinses clothes adequately then you will end up wasting a lot of water trying to get this machine to do so. It would be helpful if you could adjust the settings for adequate water level and agitation duration during the rinse cycle.
I generously gave it 3 stars only because I have no idea how this machine compares to other similar washers. Are they all affected by government environmental regulations that limit how much water they can use during a cycle? Do they all have this same issue or is this only an issue with this specific model or GE washing machines in general? I don't want to unfairly single out this machine if the fault is due to government environmental regulations that impose restrictions on the design of all washing machines.

Worst machine ever

I have had this washing machine for 40 months and I use it several times a week. It I've had this machine over three years and it is still running so that is the good thing. The bad thing is I wish it would just die so I could replace it. I should probably just call some metal scrappers and replace it anyway. I would never sell it to someone as a used machine. No one deserves my frustration. When it was brand new I called for service on it thinking it just never agitated. Come to fine out, it isn't designed to agitate. All it does is twist gently. The result? My clothes get tangled up in horrible knots. It rips embellishments off, tears buttons off, stretches arms on sweaters, tangles ties in sweatshirt hoods, stretches out socks, etc. Sometimes I don't think I'll ever be able to loosen my clothes enough to lift them out of the machine. It is an awful design. Sheets just are wound into a tight ball. If you want clean clothes and a happy laundry experience don't buy this machine!

Do not buy this product

This is one of the worst washers I have ever owned. I tried it for allmost a year. It didn't clean the clothes. There wasn't enought of water to cover the clothes on the wash cycle or the riinse cycle. It left soap in the clothes. It has what the service man called a suds overflow that drains water onto the floor under the washer. He said it could dump as much as a cup of water every wash . I just replaced it with a speed queen today after less than a year. I will never buy a GE washer agin.

Hard to get used to

Did not want "energy-water saver" product & it wasn't advertised as energy star. Tub doesn't fill on super. Clothes seem to get more wrinkled and the cycle is longer, much longer than my last machine. I thinbk this is due to the strange rinse cycle. It seems the Downey fabric softner is rinsed out, more static on the clothes.
