The scents are really smashed up!

These are fabulous crayons to color with however- the scents are very difficult to distinguish. My 6 year old daughter got extremely frustrated with the crayons and she said it best when she said-“They all smell the same!”.
When you open the box it really smells like a smashup! She had a lot less fun with these initially than she did with the new smashups markers. I’m not sure if it’s how they are packaged or what but they are not easily distinguishable. She gave up trying to decipher the scents and ultimately was resigned to the fact that they all smell but it’s a mystery as to what they smell like because most of them smell nothing like what they are supposed to smell like.
Great idea and quality product regardless of the execution of the scent being a bit off.
There is definitely room for improvement when it comes to the scent. Overall, I would buy these even with the scents being off because of the great variety of colors included. This fun pack includes many more skin tones than normal. I was really excited to see my daughter so happy to be able to draw her friends. Eventually the scents became a non issue because of the great selection of colors. Kids! They can find a silver lining for anything.

Fun to get kids excited!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a MS teacher and mom to an 8 and 10 year old. I borrowed these from my kids and casually laid them out for the MSers -- they had a blast! My kids like these minis in the car for on the go coloring (and they donʻt melt or get damaged being twistables,) there is a good amount of exposed crayon to color with and the color is bright as you would expect. My MSers loved the scents -- and had fun making popsicle ʻemojiʻ cards for the younger kids -- the scents lasted as reported by my 2nd grader who was a recipient. I think these would be a great gift for kids who might be reluctant or apprehensive about returning to the classroom -- give them these crayons in their kits! “I received free product from Crayola in exchange for an honest review”

Yay to no more broken crayons!

Fantastic Scents and Color Variety

My 8 and 6 year old girls loved the scents of the Silly Scents Smashups Crayons. The aromas are very enticing and add to the experience. The colors are vibrant and brilliant. The crayons color very smoothly and are a great length for growing hands. The twist up feature is also excellent for when the crayons start to run low- no peeling or sharpening needed! After you’re done coloring, the picture still smells for days

Which means we have a lot of broken ones in the art bin. But with these twistable scented crayons I don’t have to worry! No more finding half crayons under their drawing desk, yay! And with the scents, it’s an added fun bonus. They loved taking each one out and trying to figure out which scent each one was. They’re personal favorite out of this bunch was “upside-down cake”. Also they liked using the VERY bright neon yellow, I was surprised to see a crayon so pigmented. They drew for hours with these without a single crayon broken! I’m a happy mom with even happier kids with these silly scent smashups twistables!

The Crayons are not labeled!

With 24 "smashup" scents per container, we had a hard time guessing which color went with each smell on the list on the back of the box because the crayons are not marked!
Otherwise, the crayons are the twistable variety which are great! Rich color, smooth application, and I will say that the blue crayons still smell like berries after more than a week!
I would hesitate to give this as a gift since it was somewhat frustration that we couldn't identify all the smells. The twistable crayons are great though, we do love those!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

And they do actually smell like desserts! The crayons colors very smoothly and have a nice wide tips to cover the same area a regular crayon would. Will definitely buy more. They are very easy to use and durable. The dessert characters on the packaging are fun and adorable. There are a variety of dessert themed scents but many of them smelled similar. While each one smelled nice, it was hard to differentiate one scent from the next. It would be a nice addition if the crayons were labeled with the scent as well. There was a wide variety of colors to create imaginative masterpieces with! The crayons glided with ease along the paper and did not leave any waxy residue.
