Seeing the world
on March 12, 2025

I am in my late seventies and bought the Quest 3 not for gaming but for the wonderful sightseeing programs. My wife and I are partially housebound, but now we can “travel” the world. I can see my old homestead where I grew up in Europe, was in Machu Pichu, downtown London, Paris, Tokyo, saw the beautiful museums in St. Petersburg, saw the empty city of Chernobyl and much much more. Don’t have to stand in line at the airport. Everyday choosing another destination, what a wonderful new machine, especially for seniors. I am even bowling with my grand children with another program. Thank you Meta for making our lives a little more colourful!

This is literally painful!

I bought this because I'd heard good things about them, but I'm nothing but disappointed. Not even sure where to start.
- Comfort: There is none. You get useless strap that doesn't even keep the VR set in place. The solution? Meta wants you to spend another $179 for their "elite" strap! No thanks!
- Battery: This was another huge disappointment. The unit takes two hours to fully charge and drains in less than an hour playing games! It may be different for streaming or other things, but this is a dealbreaker for me. Even when you plug it in with the given charging cable, it drains faster than it charges! I mean seriously, this is what $700 gets you?
- Weight: I purchased this primarily to play online golf with friends. I literally can't even make it 30 minutes before the weight of the VR set is painfully hurting my eyes/forehead and straining my neck from looking down so much.
- Nausea/Dizziness: Again, it doesn't take more than about 30mins before I'm feeling sick and nauseated with this device. I need to lay down for half an hour for my eyes and head to recover after each use.
Not worth the heavy cost in my opinion. I ordered a different head strap to see if that helps, but if not, I will be returning it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun device, but not used regularly

This VR headset is really fun to use and quite innovative. I've only played a few games and explored a few applications as the games/apps are a bit pricey. I use it occasionally and haven't really invested much time into it. The novelty does fade fairly quickly. Overall, it's a fun device, but not something I that sits more on a shelf than it actually gets used.

Some games take getting used to. But overall awesome! Every household needs a least one. Most fun I’ve had since NES.

Good stuff

It's awesome for watching videos and playing games. The quality is good, and the battery lasts about two hours. It's more like three or four if you're just watching videos. The strap it comes with sucks, but getting a strap with a built-in battery will seriously make the battery last way longer. The controllers are good, but you need AA batteries, so they'll last a long time unless you break them. The strap on the controllers isn't bad. I'm happy with it overall.

BEST VR I've used - Better then PS VR2

Overall I'm really amazed of how wide ranged this VR is. Only thing that needs fixed is the game selection but the other customizations and wide range of things to do with this VR is stunning.
- This VR was missing the batman included. Best Buy is fixing with an exchange.
Thanks

Unbelievable

I've owned the Quest 2, and the difference is night and day. The new pancake lenses really do make a world of difference, I wouldn't buy the Quest 3s if you're coming from the Quest 2 because the lenses are the same and if image clarity is important to you, this is the headset you need to buy.

Costco has better offer

I like the device, I enjoy it ; but Costco will provide one year membership for free. I used it for fitness only; I am not into gaming, however, for fitness, I play an hour every day which goes fast and I get tired way more than actual Gym, so If you are into fitness, yes , buy it,
I got dizzy nowadays , not sure is it because of it or just got flue lol
