Bought this a month ago and have been having a blast with a wide range of apps and games. First time VR experience for me and overall I'd say worth the purchase.
The only drawbacks I've noticed are relatively short battery life depending on what you're doing and the Horizon OS which has been fairly buggy at times, requiring a full restart of the system because it gets stuck on a menu while not accepting inputs.

I bought the Meta Quest 3 VR headset a couple of weeks ago, and it's been a really interesting first experience with modern VR. It has come a long way from the old google cardboard lenses you used to slide your phone into. I'm amazed at how well it integrates in pass through mode, with the ability to put screens anywhere I want. It also holds those screens in place, so even if you walk away and leave the area or room, those screens will still be right were you left them. You also have a quick gesture that lets you pop the screens up in front of you in the same layout, recentering them to your new location/position. There are improvements to be made: the head strap it comes with puts a lot of pressure on your forehead, and the unit is relatively heavy for something that's sitting on one's face, so I start to notice discomfort after about 15 minutes and fidget with the straps until it's too much and I have to take the headset off. Definitely not ideal for long term use, and geared more towards quick uses than extended use cases. Not great compatibility with other devices yet, I found the native app to connect my pc was buggy and never got it connected, so workflow capability is limited unless you want to sit at your desk hooked up with a USBC to HDMI cable, at which point you may as well just use a regular monitor. Pretty limited functionality at night, it would be nice if they made it easy to watch netflix on my ceiling in bed, but I have to keep a flashlight turned on or lamp so the headset can orient itself correctly in the room. Overall I would go for AR glasses next time, like XReal. Fun to try anyway!

It’s a good item, but it doesn’t work for me. I don’t feel comfortable using it—it feels very heavy. After 5–10 minutes, I start to feel dizzy and get a headache. I tried it for several days, but it keeps giving me headaches and makes me feel dizzy and uncomfortable.

Amazing Tech - just get past the motion sickness

Having never used VR - I had heard I might experience something akin to motion sickness. Yes, I did. However after using it in small doses it didn’t take long to get past that feeling. Being north of 55 with some health issues, I actually got it primarily for the fitness app Supernatural. Which for me, well worth the cost. I’ve used it to try a bit of gaming (duck hunt) and watch some Amazon prime. The thing is crazy immersive and the audio is surprisingly good without the need for adding headphones. It’s not the most comfortable with the factory straps, but I rectified that with a supplemental battery and strap off Amazon. Which also addresses the biggest con with it out of the box. The battery life is pretty bad. But maybe that’s just due to my high expectations as I have an older M1 MacBook Pro that can still stay running for almost 8hrs! Different technologies I guess. Anyway, love this thing for the purpose I bought it for.
