The new one makes some subtle improvements, my favorite being the strap that binds the bag to a rollerboard handle -- very convenient. The small-gear pockets are great too. I love the tough fabric and overall high-quality components. It works equally well for cameras and general tech gear.

Perfect Multi-Purpose Bag

I chose the 41L PRVKE and Camera Cube Pro Deep as a combo and it’s been a perfect solution. Currently, I daily carry the following gear in the PRVKE to and from the office:- Fujifilm XT3- x3 Fuji Prime Lenses- XT3 Battery Grip- 4 Fuji Batteries- x3 Lens Filters- Fuji Neck Strap- XT3 Hot Shoe Flash- Dell 16” Laptop- Dell 90w Laptop Charger- x3 Wall Charger Bricks- x8 USB Charging Cables- x2 6’ Ethernet Cables- Thermal Paste & Applicator- x3 USB Drives- x20 Cable Organizer Straps- Car Keys- 24 Pack of Gum- 3L Lunchbox- Micro Form Factor Dell Computer- x2 Hard Disk Drives- iFixIt Pro Repair Tool KitThe bag holds all this gear comfortably with the camera pro deep cube inside without stretching it to the seams. I can also attest to the waterproof material, as I went through a carwash with the bag in my trunk and somehow the water leaked a bunch inside all over it, but all my gear was dry and safe. Definitely happy with the purchase overall; it’s a bit over the pricey side for a backpack, but considering the quality and expected lifespan I believe it’s justifiable if you can swing it for the whole set.

I especially like the size as I am 6 ft tall and the proportions to my body are great. The straps in the add on package also helps with long walking sessions when I’m carrying a lot of gear.

Combined with the Pro Camera Cube, I am able to fit a Sony mirrorless camera w/attached 70-200 GM II, 1.4 teleconverter, 50 1.2 GM, a wide angle Leica & longer zoom Contax lens, lens filter case, batteries, charger, etc. with room for more. There are plenty of pockets to load up and like the fact the depth of the Pro Camera Cube is 4” so the bag does not bulge and easy to maneuver in tight or larger spaces. Especially since I’m a thinner built guy. Also helps with storage around the house. Padding is dense and exceptionally thick. I like knowing my gear is protected. Quality of bag is extremely durable and well made.Also bought the 9L sling which fits an attached Sony w/70-200 GM II, a compact Sony RX100 (with leather case) and my lens filters + optional 1.4 teleconverter when I don’t want to bring the entire arsenal but have full autofocus 24-280mm.Hope this helps someone. Ultimately, would I buy again? Yes!
