I’ve bought this case twice now.... works awesome! Well worth the money. I only bought another case because the clear part was getting scratched. The only problem with new case is where you can change to vibrate in your phone, the switch is loose and won’t work properly, but besides that, well worth it!

Case seems very sturdy and well made. I like the clear back to see my phone. I wish there were more choices in colors for the edge. That being said, it is much bulkier than I expected and is almost too wide for my hand. I also didn’t like that I had to purchase a separate protective film (Alpha Glass)to protect my screen.

I manage a mobile account with 16 iPhones (various models), most have Otterbox cases. The Defender has saved my iPhone 6 Plus from flying off the hood of my truck at 50 MPH more than once so, I'm a fan.
I just upgraded 2 phones to iPhone X's one of which was mine. I read all of the reviews and was surprised and concerned about all of the negative reviews regarding the fit and buttons not working. I also read all of the Otter's responses. But being a fan, I took the plunge and purchased 2 Pursuits.
While it took quite a while to get them installed I can assure you that both fit perfectly with no gaps or other issues and the buttons work perfectly as well. I am confident that the problem everyone is having is that the instructions are not clear at all regarding how to fit the phone into the case. The trick is putting the face into the case first paying careful attention to the mute switch and ensuring that it works properly BEFORE trying to close the case.
This new case uses an up/down toggle switch for the mute function and it's very finicky. It took me several tries to get it just right but once done everything all goes exactly as you'd expect from Otterbox.
Recommend that if you can't get it, CALL THEM BEFORE JUST COMPLAINING, there is a trick to this case. This case is probably not the best choice for folks who want to take their phone in and out of the case regularly.

I bought the Pursuit and Defender for my IPhone X but returned them both due to no screen protector. Yes I’m aware of Alpha glass but I want just 1 single unit of maximum protection not a series of add ons.
Both were great fitting cases, but the Pursuit offered no holster which to me is added protection. I guess we’ll see what “Lifeproof” comes out with , but their colors are in no way manly man friendly. Cmon Otters think of the old guys that want to fully protect their expensive toys.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Case snaps together all around except near volume buttons. Attempted to reinstall number of times by starting at volume buttons. Checked for foreign objects ...etc...but it won't stay latched at that spot. Would sent back but am traveling and need the overall protection.

I’m disappointed and returning the New Pursuit series for IPhone X. I loved the defender case for iPhone 6s I had for 2 years!! I have two kids under 5 who did their best to break it everyday- my son even threw my phone out of the window of my car as I was driving out of my driveway and never even a scratch!!! The case had a built in plastic cover over the screen and kept my screen in tact for 2 years!!
The new pursuit case/alpha glass didn’t last a full 24 hours :( the alpha glass has a huge crack across it day 1.

First the good: The pursuit case is built like a fort. Virtually every opening of the phone is sealed in someway. The star of the show is that the mute switch is isolated under cover that also serves as a rotary switch to actually it. Anyone who is had an iPhone 6 or later knows how often those phones mute themselves almost by magic. what’s the mute switch covered the problem is eliminated. Unfortunately for those who do not yet have an iPhone X the pursuit case only comes for that phone as yet . I hope that OtterBox will have the wisdom to add the cover news which feature two other cases or make the pursuit case available in other configurations.
The bad: The case is not an easy install. This is particularly true when trying to make the rotary switch on the case to the mate with the switch the phone. That part is an exercise in patience and persistence but very much worth it. Result is a handsome case that serves user well. One final note: A simple flap over the mute switch, similar to the one over the charging port, would have sufficed and made the installation easier.
