We know what we are getting when we purchase an Otter Box! So yes... I’m happy with the high level of protection the product offers!!! BUT my goodness... is there a version that isn’t slick on the backside of it? The one I purchased 5 years ago had the rubber on the backside of it. I could set it down in the car and it pretty much would move! This one... it moves like a wet fish. Of course the old version had negatives, but I have to get this from between my car seat 3-4 times per week... geez.
Really happy with the cover for my XS, but have found after only 2weeks of use the silicone flap which seals the charging port is already torn as a result of opening and closing it to use a charger and headphones. This should be made from the hard plastic to avoid the silicone from tearing just from daily use. Other than that the cover is great.
Otter box did an awesome job with this redesign. The plug port cover seems much more stable and less likely to tear off. I like that the foam around the face has been removed. On the old design the foam always seemed to push out and get twisted. It does take some patience/persistence putting this case together. I do like that the switch has been removed though others liked this feature. The best part of this redesign is that the buttons require less of a push than the previous case.
I've used several Otterbox Defender cases in the past and have been very happy with them. I purchased the Pursuit case for an iPhone X because it was described as 'Our most protective case.' It doesn't seem nearly as protective as the Defender case, though. I felt the quality was on par with cases that cost about 10% as much. The gasket around the edge of the front piece wasn't attached consistently around the edges of the case, causing it to be visible from the front in some parts, but not on others because it was folded underneath. After repeated attempts, I could never get the case to fit properly around the volume buttons. It bows out from the side, and also from front to back. The pads require considerable effort to engage to actual buttons on the phone. Then there's the 'switch' to mute the phone. It's a small lever that slightly rotates. Rotating it on my case does nothing. If I keep messing with it by rotating it, pulling slightly out of the case and pressing it back in, I can sometimes get it to work. Feels cheap and is very frustrating. The documentation included with the case doesn't mention it, but says the complete user's manual is online in Support. I checked Support and can't find the user's manual for this case anywhere. The case is very slick. While it makes it easier to slide into pockets, it also slides across any surface you set it on with ease. It also does not sit squarely on flat surfaces, which can be frustrating when trying to use things like the calculator without the phone rocking when you touch it.

Hi Steve!
We're very sorry to see that you're feeling so disappointed by the iPhone X Pursuit! Although the design is more streamlined than the Defender series, the Pursuit proved its strength during the engineering and testing process and is, in fact, our most protective case yet! The strange fit issues you are experiencing are not typical of our cases, and our friendly Otters will be more than happy to take a closer look to get to the bottom of this. Please feel welcome to give them a quick call at 1-855-688-7269, and they'll solve this mystery. They’ll even be willing to send out a warranty replacement, if that’s what it takes!
This case is extremely bulky, difficult to get off and on, and, once in place, makes pressing the lock button and the volume buttons extremely difficult. I switched to another brand of cases immediately.

Hi Danica,
Sorry to hear that your experience with the iPhone X Pursuit series didn't go super well! The case does have to be specifically installed in order to work seamlessly with the iPhone, and for future reference, our expert Otters are always available to help with the installation process. Sounds like this case might be a little too bulky for your comfort level, and we might suggest looking at our Symmetry design, which still offers superior protection, but in a much sleeker style. Feel free to check it out by following the link below, and let us know if you have any questions. We're just a call away at 1-855-688-7269!
I’m in the process of returning my device, it was not worth the money. It didn’t fit my iPhone X correctly and the silence button didn’t work while in the case. Save your money and get something else, very disappointed!!

Hey Dobby85!
We're so sorry to hear that your iPhone X Pursuit did not quite meet expectations! The unit does have to be very specifically installed in order to work seamlessly with the iPhone, and had you contacted us, our friendly Otters would have loved to help troubleshoot this issue with you. As it is, we apologize that returning the product seemed like your best option, and we sincerely hope that this does not turn you away from OtterBox for good. Should you have any future questions or comments, please feel welcome to reach out to us at 1-855-688-7269, and we'll always do what we can to help out!
Happy with my purchase so far. It’s not too bulky but offers a decent level of protection and still allows me to use my glass screen protector. Only down side is that the clear back has no lip or rim on the edge so when you put it down it is in constant contact with surface and has become scratched within days. I don’t really mind as it’s the protection and skin design in more interested in, but asthetically it’s not great.
