I bought this as I've been trying out different phone cases ever since Spigen started to make their polycarbonate material with a lot less grip. Otterbox cases are generally large but this one wasn't horrible, so I wanted to give it a shot. Overall the case has good protection, looks nice and simple and the buttons work great. However it's just way too slippery on the outside/back layer and very hard to hold, especially 1-handed. It's also too hard to do anything on your phone while case is on a table/hard surface as it just moves around.
This could easily be solved by making an outside layer that's the same material as the inside layer, which has more of a rubber feel and great grip. I'd love to see a smaller case too, but starting with better grip would be a great upgrade to this case. There are many options anyway for the exterior of this case, so I think introducing one more is a great idea.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been a pretty loyal Otterbox user for several years now. My biggest issue with them in the past is that the silicone buttons would wear down before the rest of the case since they were most frequently used. However, in the updated case the buttons are actually plastic! I think this is a huge improvement and I look forward to seeing how much this extends the life of the case. As always, the protection is excellent as well. I drop my phone fairly often and I have yet to experience a broken screen.
