This is our 2nd MJ401E. We gave our first one to my father in law. He grew up in another country in an urban environment and never had any grass to cut. He would be hopelessly confused with a gas mower. This unit is very light weight and easy to handle. It cuts perfectly and can bag or mulch. Having to deal with an extension cord is not as big of a deal as some think when considering an electric. We have dealt with cords on our vacuums for decades. If you can vacuum your rug, you can mow your lawn if it is small enough to warrant an electric in the first place. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the height adjustment is flimsy and will get knocked out of adjustment from bouncing around the yard. Otherwise, it's great; no gas, oil or sparkplugs to deal with. Instant on, too. No ropes to pull.
Does all it claims. Perfect for the small lawn..Grass catcher a cinch to use.

Customer service is awesome. I've been a snow Joe owner for about 18 months. During the first year the starter stopped working. I called customer service and was sent a new lawn mower with free return shipping of the non functioning unit.
About 6 months later the wheels fell off of the new unit. I was sent 2 new wheels, but they didn't have any instructions. I tried to find another customer review for installing the wheels, but no one started specifics. I called customer service for assistance because the wheel kept falling off. My call was returned the following day and they offered to send me the two clamp washers that was missing. After receiving the part and verbal instructions from customer service, I was finally able to get the small part on. Unless you have strong fingers, (I'm a female with gel nail overlay) you'll need a few simple tools. I used a flat head screwdriver and bunt tip pliers to stretch and push the small washer onto the axle.
I also purchased a snowblower but wasn't able to use it last year due to a light winter. My decision to purchase was not only because of my satisfaction with my little "turtle" mower (lol), but because of the excellent no hassle customer service.
We've a steep hill in the front of our house. With our previous gas mower, it was too heavy to repeatedly push up or across the hill. The Sun Joe MJ401E Electric Lawn Mower is light enough to be able to push around on that hill. We like the bagger as it captures the yard waste for recycling.
I've used this twice, now and it does a great job. I have 3 very small patches of lawn (front, side, back yard), and this works great. it's lightweight, and easy to maneuver. I'm 66 and very glad to be able to mow my own yard. This probably would not be good for very tall weeds, but I didn't need it for that. I am very satisfied with my Sun Joe!
