Hello L Hamilton - We are sorry that you are unsatisfied with the model. It is not a rechargeable unit and requires 3 AA batteries to operate. The average customer will replace batteries every 6-8 weeks. How long the batteries will last is not only determined by the type and quality of the battery, but also how often the unit is used. If multiple people are using the unit and/or it gets used multiple times a day, the batteries will need to be replaced more frequently. Perhaps a rechargeable or countertop model would be a better fit. The WF-03 Cordless Freedom does have a 30-day money-back guarantee. The waterpik only had two speeds. Neither speeds were very powerful. Also the water tank was inadequate
