This is a joke, cannot believe this is like trash

I fiddled around with this utility knife for over an hour and not nowhere. The levers do nothing, The little push button does nothing. So what did I accomplish in 1 hour? Well I got one blade jammed inside and it cannot be removed and because its stuck inside cannot even get a new blade in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Changing Blade

I am a Dewalt tool person thru and thru. This is the first item I have ever bought that I had to return as it's unusable. Too bad. I loved the folding design and solid feel of it. Figure out the blade change mechanism and this could be a winner.

Can anyone explain how to get the blade to slide forward, or how to actually get this thing to open? Are there blades in there somewhere? I need help.

Poor Design

Supposedly a Rapid change blade design????? You have to totally disassemble the knife to change the blade. I own a lot of Dewalt tools. This by far is the worst design. Don't buy this one.

How does DeWalt even think it's OK to sell these?

Same issue as everybody else. Can't even get a blade loaded and locked. The quick change button gets stuck pushed in, and there's nothing like a spring behind it or way to access the other side of the button. Even when I pry the little button out with with a super tiny screwdriver, there seems to be no stop in any position to keep the blade securely attached. If you want the blade randomly flying out of your utility knife, DeWalt's got you covered.
This was my first experience with any DeWalt tools, and the fact that this is still sitting on the shelves like nothing's wrong with it, well, that makes it my last experience with DeWalt tools. I'm glad it wasn't a more expensive mistake.

This is a very poor design, blade does not extend, I literally bought this yesterday, and it does not work. I will be returning it.

Thought it 1 star at first, now 4 star

Fortunately I bought this knife before I read the reviews. Except for the breakage one reported, I had all the same problems the 1 star reviewers found until I viewed a couple of youtube videos and played around with the knife for 15 minutes or so. After a while I learned how to use it, and it worked just fine for me. All that keeps me from rating it 5 stars is the difficulty in figuring it out without consulting youtube. 1. The blade change button got stuck below the press position. I was able to get it back to normal with a small screwdriver. 2. I have not checked the wire stripper, but seems to be OK. 3. I can open it with one hand (thumb push) and wrist snap, but find two hands is the best.
Advice: Get the knife, but be prepared to fool around with it a while to get comfortable using it.
