We have had this Powerbolt 250 for a year. Easy to install, and easy to use. We just love it. We never use the key, only the pushbuttons to enter and exit. It has never failed us. I don't know how there could be any negative reviews unless it is user error. I have 8 rental properties, and I only use Quikset locks. They all work great.
As long as you don't need to rehand this door, the lock is fine. I bought 3 of these and the one door that swung in to the left, absolutely will not work. Ive reinstalled it, reset it, rehanded it, flipped the bar in the door every which way, different sets of batteries, read the instructions in English, read them in Spanish and nothing works. It is mechanically installed correctly. It will always turn the lock handle the wrong way and unlock the door when you press lock. I hate this lock with all of my soul and will probably be throwing it away because I can't find the receipt. If you need a left swing door lock, DO NOT BUY THIS ONE.

Hello,
We're happy to help you with this! The Powerbolt 250 is reversible to fit both left-hand and right-hand doors. Here are the steps to fix this:
1. Open the door and place the latch in the locked position. 2. Remove the interior assembly of the lock. 3. Check that the flat blade piece is in the vertical position. See Section 4-B. 4. And ensure that the turn-piece is also in the vertical position when reinstalling the interior assembly. Also, make sure the latch is still locked. 5. Perform the Factory Reset, Door Rehanding, and add a User Code.
I bought this lock to replace a cheaper brand that never installed or worked properly. This lock installed, programmed and rekeyed in less than 30 minutes. Trust Kwikset and pass on the other brands!
I bought this for the door in the garage coming into the house. It's very easy to use very reliable. I have a friend that liked it. So well, they got one for their house.
This product worked for exactly one month now refuses to lock. I’ve reset it multiple times both factory reset and re-handling. I’ve also added user codes and deleted user codes, and this thing will not work.

Hello Ynot12,
We're happy to help you! To fix this, please try a new set of batteries and follow these steps:
1. Check the installation, and ensure that the flat blade is installed in the vertical position, while the deadbolt latch is in the locked position. Also, check that the cable is secure and tucked away from the spindle.
2. Check your door alignment to prevent any jamming errors: https://www.kwikset.com/support/answers/how-do-i-check-door-alignment-for-my-smart-lock

Hello Tricon43,
To fix this, please try the following steps:
1. Check the installation, and ensure that the flat blade was installed in the vertical position, while the deadbolt latch is in the locked position. Also, check that the cable is securely plugged in. 2. Replace the batteries and perform the Factory Reset and the Door Rehanding process in step 15: https://kwiksetprodstorage.blob.core.windows.net/documents/kw_ig_5053732_9250.pdf 3. Follow the steps to add a new user code as shown in step 6. 4. Lastly, check your door alignment and jamb hole depth for preventative measures: https://www.kwikset.com/support/answers/how-do-i-check-door-alignment-for-my-smart-lock
Won't program properly. Followed instructions, re-installed, etc. Unlocked when I wanted it to lock, half unlocked sometimes, didn't remember codes. Totally scrambled hardware.
