Very useful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this Kwikset powerbolt 250 transitional keypad electronic deadbolt for about a week now. My family really appreciates it. We replaced a different brand's smart lock for this one. I'm glad that I did. It's much more convenient as the other lock had a separate key pad and the touch function didn't always work. I like that each number has it's own button vs the ones that have 2 numbers on each button. We have a few different codes programmed for each person in the home and we have not run into any issues since installing it. The installation was fairly easy and this deadbolt fits perfectly on a classic door. I'm happy about this change.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't waste your time or money

We have tried replacing this item a number of times after our first one malfunctioned and jammed after only 8 months. Every single replacement we installed malfunctioned. The first one would not accept any codes, and wouldn't stay locked. The second one may accept codes, but it doesn't stay locked and it seems to jam. We are on replacement number two and we have wasted an inordinate amount of time trying to figure it out.

We're here to help! To resolve the jamming issue, please try these steps:
1. Open the door and lock the latch so that it's extended. Remove the key from the key cylinder.
2. Remove the interior assembly of the lock and ensure that the Flat Blade piece is in the vertical position.
3. Reattach the interior assembly and keep the latch locked. Please do not try to unlock it.
4. Perform the Door Rehanding step.

I bought this powerbolt 250 one week ago and finally get to install it today (Sunday). It worked once and then it stopped moving the bolt at all. The motor tries to turn it but it doesn't move. The bolt moved freely without the interior side on and then it acts like it can't turn the bolt??? Put 3 sets of new batteries, did factory reset, took it completely out and reinstalled 3 times and still nothing..... Very disappointed

We're happy to help with the best solution for your Home Connect 620 Contemporary Deadbolt. Here are a few steps that will fix what you're experiencing:

1. Open the door and lock it. Remove the interior assembly of the lock and check that the cable is securely plugged in and tuck it back in away from the bolt. Reattach the interior assembly but please do not attempt to unlock the latch and do not over tighten the screws.

2. Complete the manual door handing process with a fresh set of batteries:

Sometimes it works

Most of the time it unlocks but sometimes it don't. So you got to have a hide a key somewhere close No rhyme or reasone

Horrible battery life

Had this installed less than 2 months ago & the battery is already failing. It started beeping & red lights flashing.
Would not recommend this model.

To get your lock programmed successfully, please try the following steps:
1. Replace the batteries with a fresh set using the recommended Alkaline batteries only and not rechargeable or lithium.
2. Factory reset the lock per step 16, and perform the Door Rehanding process per step 15.
3. Reprogram a user code in step 6 and add additional codes.

The Worst

Doesn't work. Programing the code didn't work. Super frustrating. Tried all the troubleshooting options. Nothing worked. There's a reason this is one of the cheapest units on the market. DO NOT PURCHASE

Kwikset 250 Keyless Entrance Pad Lock

This Kwikset is so easy to use for myself and for my Airbnb guests. I am very pleased with this product.
It does exactly what Kwikset says it does with no problems whatsoever.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I give it a 5 star.
