Thanks for your feedback. Our JBL Flip 7 is rated IP68, which means it is both dustproof and waterproof and can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Any exposure beyond these limits is not recommended and may affect the speaker's performance or protection.

Thank you for sharing us your experience with our JBL Flip 7. It has a published up-to playtime of up to 16 hours which is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Battery playtime also decreases as the battery ages and all batteries, over time, will slowly wear down. Charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine.
