Love everything about it but have taken one star off because it is too easy to burn yourself when you go to lift the lid. It is too difficult while wearing a mitt, but if you don't have hand protection, the tips of your fingers might get a little singe. Otherwise, great waffles were made with almond milk.

Excellent non-stick surface, I made sure to season on the first use. Easy to change plates and both work very well. Easy to clean, either wiping the plates off or light scrubbing, it says dishwasher safe but I’m inclined to hand wash for longevity. Very consistent cook time and even distribution of heat. Taking some playing around with the temperature settings to get the right level of “done” to your liking. Very happy with this! Now everyone wants waffles all the time.

The Breakfast Central-Positive & Negative Features

The Breakfast Central has some positive and some negative features. I purchased it to replace my Krups Waffle Maker that I had for years. The positive features are that the unit has the two sets of plates, one for waffles and one for pancakes. The plates are easy to install and clean. The most negative feature is the rim of the plates protrude from the top and bottom of the unit even when the lid is closed. You have to be careful not to get burnt even if the lid is closed. Unfortunately, I got burnt the first time I used it. On my old waffle maker, that also had removable plates, the plates were set in and therefore, were not exposed when the waffle iron was in use. The Breakfast Central makes cute pancakes and waffles, please note they tend to be smaller than other square waffle makers.The pancakes tend to be less done on one side even when fully cooked. They don't look perfect but taste fine. It is convenient to be able to make four pancakes at one time. I would recommend this unit if you don't mind the negative features. On the positive side, it is easy to store in the upright position and the unit is lighter to lift than the older heavier waffle makers. The Breakfast Central all in all has been working fine since I adjusted to it. I have had it for about two months now.

After looking at several waffle makers, this was the best for the price (even though it was higher than we wanted to pay). Works well and the main reason for our purchase is the easily removed plates for cleaning.

All went well with setting up and setting browning level. I didn't find a measuring cup to gauge the correct amount of waffle mix, but I worked around that. Cleanup was easy with the removable nonstick plates.
