I EDC this knife for duty, perfect size and weight, doesn’t stick out from uniform and it’s easy to back pack it too. The deployment is smooth and fast in both in and out. The S35VN blade is a win and retains the edge even after a whole day of tactical cardboard cutting. I wish the clip was flush with the handle instead of loop over the handle, the little gap always get stuck in pocket which takes an extra fraction of a second making my anxiety spike up before I slice my apple (I know I could bite it but I like to cut things). Still, it has been my favorite EDC.

I bought my first SOG knife a couple of months ago, the Terminus xr late cryo gold. About 6a week ago I purchased the xr version. Overall both knives are fantastic but there are some concerns. Right out of the box the XR had excellent action, no blade or lock wobble and centering was perfect. The XR LTE was a little stiffer but still had great action thonI did adjust it very slightly to match the XR. Again no blade or lock wobble and perfect centering. Ergonomics of both are great, the only issue is some edges, especially on the XR LTE are sharp and create hot spots when gripping tightly. The Kick on the XR LTE feels perfect. The Kick on the XR was very sharp on the bottom row of the jimping... 30 seconds with a hard file fixed it. The XR lock on the XR feels perfectly smooth however on the XR LTE it's very abrasive sounding. Both work well and are easy to move but the smoother XR is where it's at. Both the XR & XR LTE have fantastic one hand open and close action. Easily the best at this point price. The XR heavier than the XR LTE however for balance and overall hand feel the XR is my favoirite. Eventhough it's not as well balanced as the XR LTE, it does feel great as I like a little heft (not heavy) when handling my knives. The XR feels perfect! Both versions have the CPM S35VN blade steel. No issues there super impressed and both were super sharp out of the box final ground to 600 to 800 is my guess. Appearance of both knives to my eyes is they look far more expensive then they are. The styling is fantastic in my opinion. I love the balance of tacticle and fashionable casual and formal. It's a great looking knife. Cutting regular stock printing paper is pleasing to both the ears, eyes, and feel. The blades in both are uniformly shape from tip to choil. This is the kind of knofe I want to carry everyday and also into the bush for all small knife duties. Cut a box, open and envelope, clean a fish, eat and apple or a steak. Fit and finish overall is very good on this fully ambidextrous folder with deeeeep carry pocket clip. I'm looking for the first version of the XR with graphite scales that has the extra routing grip lines and that dredded SOG pocket clip most people hate that I love! I want one with the grey cryo blade. If you know where I can get one email squires@telus.net

5 stars because it checks all the boxes. I bought it for EDC use. I have no plans to fight my way clear of marauding hordes but I wanted a knife I could have confidence in. It probably doesn't compare to a knife 2 or 3x the price. I don't feel that would be a reasonable comparison. I wanted a knife to use, I have no plans to abuse it, but I want it to work first time every time. At the same time, I want a kniife that doesn't cost so much that I have to worry about it. So far so good. My all-time favorite EDC was the AirSoG. If it had a clip I'd still be carrying it. Replacing that knife in my pocket is something other knives have failed to do. The Terminus is still clipped in my pocket.
