New packaging is ridiculous!

If anyone in customer support reads this, I certainly hope you will reconsider what you have done with the packaging. As everyone else said -- who carries scissors everywhere you go to open the package. And even after cutting the plastic, it is still impossible to retrieve the hearing aid. Plus, after cutting, the plastic is still strong enough that it cut my finger while trying to get the hearing aid out. I am speechless to think that this could have passed quality assurance testing before marketing!

There is no way you can open this new packaging for 312 hearing aid batteries with scissors. Even a knife cutter won't open them. Have to have screwdriver & two plyers. This is unacceptable. What if you are out and your hearing aid batteries go out. You have to have screwdriver & plyers with you & spend about 5 minutes & struggle to get them opened. It's rediculous there has to be another solution. I'm sure you have been swamped with complaints. Elderly people will not be able to get them opened. I feel sorry for them.

I don't know why you make a package that cannot be opened without specialized tools. I tried two scissors and a screw driver but I hate to think I have to do every time I want a new battery

Ok! What’s the secret to opening the package?

Regardless the banner claiming seniors can open the package in under a minute it cannot be done without a tool and strong hands. Does the company sell a cutting tool? Or, did they assume you carry heavy scissors with you everywhere you may go? Furthermore, I don’t think the batteries last as long as they once did. Change the package!

Packaging change

Batteries are received through the VA. Until the recent order was received, getting individual batteries out of their case was easy. The "new and improved" version put an end to that. It now seems necessary to have a full array of tools handy to open up each compartment. It ain't easy anymore. The term "Child Resistant Packaging" should be amended to read "People Resistant". Think of the majority of hearing aid users -- seniors would logically fall into that category. And consider many of those seniors have visual problems, coordination difficulties, disabilities that make opening the case nearly impossible, or requiring help. Child Resistant? Considering that seniors typically don't have children living with them, is this ironclad packaging realliy necessary? Shouldn't there be an option? Hearing loss or impairment is difficult enough in itself. Now manufacturers are compounding the problem. Yes, some folks are fortunate enough to have young grandchildren visiting but they too grow up. I'm guessing the reason for Ray-O-Vac advertising their batteries last longer than competitors' goods is because people won't be able to get them out of the package to use them. My vote is for reverting to previously used packaging, or provide an option!!! As for the batteries themselves, they seem to be up to the job.

I didn't realize that the new packaging requires scissors. I was not in my home and required a battery change. What a major inconvenience as I do not carry scissors in my purse. I will not purchase this brand any longer.

Child Proof Packaging? Terrible for us seniors

This new child proof packaging for the 6 pack 312 batteries is also nearly senior proof. The reason I bought Rayovac batteries for my hearing aid was the senior friendly packaging. It would help for you to go back to your old packaging. Now I guess I will have to look at some other brands for my size 312 batteries.
