Without assistance I couldn't open batteries

I noted that all 5 star rating reviews were more than a year old. There should be nothing but 1 star ratings since the 2024 new packaging makes opening for accessing the batteries just about impossible. Your description says the the 312 batteries are 100% child resistant - the fact is that regardless of age, at no age is opening reasonably possible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To require scissors to access a battery is ridiculous. Even using scissors is quite difficult unless there is an opening technique to use of which I'm not aware.

I've been using these provided by the VA for years but from now on I'll buy my own as I cannot get this new package open! I can't carry a pair of scissors with me all the time.
I guess until I manage to use up the 180 batteries I just received I'll get help and open all of them and carry them in a baggie. That will totally defeat the "child proof" idea.

These are product that is used almost exclusively by old people with arthritic hands and you have chosen to package them in a way that is extremely difficult to access. What were you thinking?? I will never buy these again.

The child resistant packaging on the 6 pack is also senior resistant. My spouse and I found it awkward to open using scissors. Price for the 6 was more than I remembered-ouch!

ineffective as I don't carry scissors in my purse. So guess what I did. I opened EVERY ONE and just had the loose batteries in a baggie. They ended up in a pocket and I washed them! SOOOOOOO Batteries are ALL OVER my house....loose in my purse even because the baggie broke at one time. It is absolutely the STUPIDEST design imaginable! WHO was the IDIOT that though this would be safer??? I would bet my salary that that 99% claim is a BALDFACE LIE!

I hate the packaging on these batteries and will never buy them again. Even with scissors they are almost impossible to extricate from the packaging.

Worst idea ever for child proofing 312 batteries

Good grief! Obviously the Ray-O-Vac safety team members do not wear hearing aids! How does a person remove battery for his/her hearing aid without carrying a pair of scissors? Get their teeth sharpened?
