Great cleaning! Even when concaved.

We have been using a 20x25x1 1500 filter for years. We have 6 indoor cats and it does catch a lot of dust and hair. However, in the last year the filters we have been using do taco (fold inward and bend) even within days of replacing. By the time we replace it has developed a concave shape. We buy our filters in packages of 6 to save money since they are pricey, but we like how they perform at cleaning the air. In the past they did not do this until this last group of 6 filters. Each of them has cleaned the air well but I am concerned about the bending.

Filters are buckling after only 8 days

I have a new HVAC system with a ceiling return. Every 8 days I go through a filter. The filter will start to buckle at the edges and actually start to fold and get pulled into the return. Its over 100 degrees here and the AC runs a lot. There is no source of dust nearby like a road or field or construction. A three month filter that self destructs in 8 days is a poor return on investment. And these filters are not cheap. The same problem occurs with the 1000 rated filter too. Very disappointed.

Keeps my system new!

Have had my unit 14 years and have it serviced two times a year. Part of my service is to have the filters replaced by the serviceman. They obviously don't use Filtrete filters. Each time a new serviceman shows up to do the work, they always comments that the unit looks brand new. They know not to replace the filters since we ONLY use Filtrete. Many of our friends and family have told us that Filtrete is expensive but I do believe a new unit is more expensive!! With the rebate program it is quite manageable.

My First Pick!

I've always used Filtrete, because they're the best, but I've never stuck with one level of filtration until now. The "Healthy Living" filter has really been fantastic, I've now been using them for a year and they are proving to work very effectively. I have a dog that sheds and it does a fantastic job of capturing dog hair, dust, and other particles. If you have a home, I would highly recommend this filter!
