I bought my first Thermacell portable about 12 years ago. I was a little skeptical but it worked great. We offer hog hunting as part of our ranching business and suggest our hunters get a Thermacell before they come to hunt, especially in spring and early fall. Sometimes, for the hunters who don't have one, I will loan one of mine to them. After the hunt they usually head straight to the feed store in town to get their own. I've also given many of these things as gifts to family and friends. My wife likes to use hers in the evenings when she is working in her flower garden or reading on the back porch. She was more skeptical than me but loves that "mosquito free bubble" the Thermacell creates.
I bought portable and lantern I have three products and they works great I love them and I been telling others about it and they go and buy them I was been attacked by mosquitoes and when I put the lantern and the portable by all means I didn't have not one mosquito on me and it also works wonders on flyers I recommend these products to everyone to try it and see for your self the people that I have recommended to have call me to thank me I just wish they had the thermal cell company to make the pad and the thermal cell to last longer because after the product is out that's when mosquitoes and fly attacks you but anyway this product works I take with me anywhere I am going to be outside and believe me now I have more friends now they sit next to me lol thank you thermal cell company lk ive this stuff
The shipping was fast, that's good because the mosquitos are bad From the day it arrived,we've been using it on our patio every day at 5 pm, it works beyond belief. My only regret is we should have also ordered the one that covers a larger radius,(115 ft )(36 ft. Dia.) but this one will work OK for now, and i can take it out on the pier for fishing. Our son told us about it, he takes his out in his boat fishing. Other people I've talked with didn't realize that you could buy longer time use pads. 3,4,&12 hr pads. The one we got does not fit with padio decore but it works.
Purchased this last friday and used it all weekend camping. I have bite to prove the 15ft it's good for isn't so good. Critters were flying right next to it and didn't seem to care.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Familycamper! Sorry to hear that your MR300 Is not working at our quality standards. We’ve got thousands of happy users to date, and have tested it extensively in extreme buggy conditions before we put our name on it.
You can always contact us at service@thermacell.net or 1-866-753-3837 with questions or concerns. There is a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on all Thermacell products.
Before reaching out, could we ask you to try a few things?
• Please be sure to properly insert the fuel cartridge and replace it approximate every 12 hours. Also, you should replace the insect repellent mats approximately every 4 hours (it will turn white on the top side). • To ensure the unit is working properly, please be sure that there is an orange light glowing in the view hole (… on the top of the repeller or on the brim of the lantern) • This product is fueled by butane which means it starts very much like a gas grill does. Turn the valve on, wait 5 seconds, then click “start”. It might take a few times like it takes a few times to get a grill going!
Purchased and used the MR300 this spring, early for any major mosquito problems but plenty of nats, biting flys and a few mosquitoes. The MR300 when used with some common sense works incredibly well. If there is a steady breeze you will need to put it up wind. Simple as that. When the air is relatively calm you will have a good solid zone of protection. If not, you may have to move it around a bit. This is now my second purchase from Thermacell.
As a frequent user of the MR150 and the Backpacker, I was eager to try the MR300. The new ignition system is easier to use and the body is a beefier, more durable package. It fits the holster well and like the MR150, is easy to clip on a belt or pocket lip for mobile carry. I like to use both the Backpacker and 150, now 300, at my campsite as it provides excellent coverage to repel the bugs.
