Thermacell works as advertised to keep mosquitoes under control

I just returned from hunting this morning (9/28/14) and this was the first time I tried using my Thermacell. I purchased the Hunter Starter Kit so that I would have some spare fuel and mats on hand for the season. Plus it comes with the holster that has a clip on it. The bare unit does not have any way to fasten it to your clothes.
I left the unit off until I had a good number of mosquitoes around and on me. Then I turned it on again and clipped the unit to a loop on the back of my hunting vest. This positioned the Thermacell between my shoulder blades.
The mosquitoes were repelled in less than a minute. During several hours of walking and sitting I only had a couple of mosquitoes that actually bit me. I could still see them hovering all around, but most of them weren't getting to me. I call that effective control.
The Thermacell produces visible vapor and it has a slightly fragrant odor. This may be an issue for some hunters but not for me. I just wanted to mention it.
Pros: Hunting

Great and easy to use

I've been using Thermacell for 5 years now, and it's the best repellant ever!! It is so easy to use and it always works when I need it. Living in the country, the mosquitoes are very aggressive, so I even use it around the yard. I’ve also purchased a lantern, and will keep using it for as long as I can get my hands on this product!! I am Pro Staff on Brotherhood Of The Hunt, on WildTV and now Carbon TV, and we would be honored to have Thermacell as part of the team. We actually are currently using Thermacell on allot of our hunts.

Easy to carry

I bought this for gardening and it works pretty well if you stay still. If you are walking around it is slightly less effective but still better than covering yourself in DEET.

Never be without one

I purchased my first repeller about seven years ago. I purchased another last year thinking mine would eventually quit working. Hasn't happened yet still using the original. I use mine while hunting, fishing, gardening, and relaxing on the porch.
