I’m just wondering if you have to keep it attached to tour body to keep the bugs away? I had it attached to a chair about 5 feet from me, no wind, and was still getting bit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

• Please be sure to properly insert the fuel cartridge and replace it approximate every 12 hours. Also, you should replace the insect repellent mats approximately every 4 hours (it will turn white on the top side).
• To ensure the unit is working properly, please be sure that there is an orange light glowing in the view hole (… on the top of the repeller or on the brim of the lantern)
• This product is fueled by butane which means it starts very much like a gas grill does. Turn the valve on, wait 5 seconds, then click “start”. It might take a few times like it takes a few times to get a grill going!

Not what was expected. Stood in my front yard with it for 15 minutes and still was attacked by mosquitoes. I literally live in the woods and was told that I would be able to be in the yard and not get bitten.

This is the 3rd unit we have purchased and love them all.I have the older version that my family keeps taking so I purchased this for my own use. The case is awesome and allows for carrying additional tanks and strips. The clip works well on the boat and on a hunting vest.

I bought the portable repeller over the summer to use while in the garden. I had purchased it in hopes of decreasing the black flies, knowing that this product is more effective on mosquitoes, as I was pretty desperate. To be honest, I'm not sure whether it was helpful or not, but to be fair it was a terrible year for black flies! I will try it again next summer and see how it goes.

MR300 Portable Mosquito Repeller with Holster

Thermacell is correct with the product information/description along with the effectiveness of the repeller. You do have to play the wind on windy days though. I used it many times camping and was not disappointed.
