The new child proof packaging is very difficult to get into. For my older hands, cutting plastic is difficult plus makes it impossible when I need to change batteries in public.

Tremendous hassle to open packaging

Have been using Rayovac's 312s for years, but always bought the 16 pack. Batteries were fine.
Bought the child resistant 6 packs last time and found out the packaging is also adult proof. Takes forever to struggle to get one out. Regular scissors would not cut the plastic. Will not be buying anything in this packaging again.

Horrible new packaging!

I’m a 75 year old navy veteran and have been using your hearing aid 312 batteries for 15 years. Your new child proof packaging is extremely difficult to open and I’ve found two dead batteries in each of my last two packages. What’s wrong with RayOVac? Please fix this problem!

I do not like the new packaging. It would be inconvenient if I was in a situation where I did not have immediate access to scissors to cut the packaging.

Child proof shouldn't also be adult proof.

Packaging challenging for senior with arthritis

I’m sure there is some data that suggested the need for this sadistic packaging. It’s not worth a crap for a senior veteran with arthritis. Spend a great deal of time trying to cut through the thick plastic in silence as my battery has died.

What am I to do? The child resistant packaging is impossible for me to open, I am 90 years old, have arthritis in my hands. Do you have an easy to open package? Where can I get it? Why don't you make an easy open package for the people who use the most batteries?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for submitting your review,HOWARD. Many thanks for you feedback on the new child-resistant packaging. We have changed the packaging format to be in compliance with Reese’s Law, which states that all button, coin and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – must be contained in child-resistant packaging that features specific warning copy.
The products have been subject to rigorous independent tests, confirming that the new packaging is 100% child resistant*, and zero batteries were accessed by children during CRP testing.* The new plastic dial includes additional staking points for extra security. By that nature it does mean that there will be a difference for users in how to access batteries in the pack, compared to previous packaging. The independent testing also showed that 99% of seniors were able to open the pack for the first time in under one minute*. On the second attempt, this time halved* so we found that consumers become faster with more familiarity and with instruction. We want to support everyone through the transition to child-resistant packaging and have prepared the following video that shows you how to open the pack.
