Dead before purchasing

My mother has been buying Rayovac 312s but has thrown away more than she can use. They are dead in the pack. The one I watched her replace just now worked as soon as she put it in, but withing 10 minutes, the hearing aid beeped and told her the battery was low. This is maddening for both of us. I am ordering a broad selection of batteries from several other companies so that she can find a better product.

IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN

I would give -10 stars if that were possible! I am a healthy 30 yr old Audiologist and work with hearing aids everyday. I recently have received these child proof batteries with new orders and they are IMPOSSIBLE to get open with any amount of ease. The plastic is thick and very difficult to cut open and lift off the battery. If I can't get them out of the package how can I expect my elderly patients to be able to??? It literally takes all my effort to cut through the packaging to get a battery out. I've had 4 patients in 3 weeks return their aids or switch to rechargeable just because the battery packaging was too much for them! and they were all previous users with 312 battery aids.

I just went through 6 Rayovac #13 batteries fresh out of the package that had the orange adhesive strip still attached and found all of them dead. Another one worked for 30 minutes until my HAs announced “low battery”.
This is not the first time I experience such devastatingly low quality of Rayovac batteries. Are these products tested before they leave the factory?

Rayovac catering to PC rather than Consumer

I've used Rayovac 312's for quite a few years. If Rayovac is trying to get out of the hearing aid battery business; You have certainly taken a great first step. Even as a Senior, why would I have to take anywhere close to a minute to get a battery out of the packaging. There's a pair of scissors in the picture...a chainsaw would be a better description. Thank Goodness there's the Internet. Good Bye Rayovac 312's.

BRING BACK ORIGINAL PACKAGING!

The package is ridiculous!!! Takes 5 minutes to get one out even with scissors. It doesn't cut easily, then you end up prying it with the scissors which is dangerous. Why is this even a thing now? Just keep your children away from things they shouldn't have. My son hit his head on a coffee table, should we ban those?

Ridiculous Packaging

I have used Rayovac batteries for over40 years. That has just ended. The new Child Proof packaging is ridiculous. Couldn't open with scissors. Almost cut myself with pocket knife and the kitchen shears didn't work. Ended up in shop with tin snips. These batteries are only good at home because you would never be able to open the package without tools.

Terrible packaging

I consider myself to be very physically able but I find removing a battery from its packaging to be extremely frustrating. If I needed to change a battery when I didn't have access to a good set of heavy duty shears, I would not be able to do it. The only option is to remove all the batteries from that ridiculous packaging and store them in an easily accessible container for future use. That defeats the purpose of the "childproof packaging". I will be looking for easily open packages for my future purchases.

Terrible packaging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I understand the need for child proof packaging; however most hearing aid batteries are used by seniors. You need to use scissors to cut open the package. So, if you are out and you have to change batteries, you have to find scissors or a knife to get batteries.
