Child Proof Packaging is AWFUL

Battery life is fine but trying to get to a new battery is ridiculously difficult. I don't have arthritis or any issues with my hands, so I can imagine how difficult getting into the packaging is for those that do. And who carries scissors around all the time? Please reconsider the packaging or offer both child-proof and non-child-proof as options.

I wear hearing aids and am not yet a senior, but here I am, struggling and prying and breaking out tools because scissors can BARELY cut through this packaging! I feel sad and sorry for seniors that struggle with the original packaging, anyways! I am all for children safety, but these batteries don't run tonka trucks! This is BEYOND ridiculous and there is NO way anyone on a quality control team actually tried to get through this packaging with a normal pair of scissors. I NEED TO SEE A VIDEO OF THE SUGGESTED PROCESS TO ACCESS THESE BATTERIES IN THIS CHILD RESISTANT PACKAGING. Or I am NEVER buying Rayovac again. Customer service is horrible already!

As a long-time user of Rayovac I was surprised with the. new child proof packaging. I did notice the 99% easy-open survey you stated, but PLEASE.!! The survey must have been made up of 60-year-old male bodybuilders with full toolboxes, definitely not 87-year-old women with kitchen shears. The package is impossible. I'll keep checking in hopes that the packaging changes back to easy-open. BTW do children no longer have caregivers? Safety measures should be reasonable, not this extreme.

Hate the "child proof" packaging

I just bought my last Rayovac hearing aid batteries. Even with my freshly sharpened Fiskars scissors I can barely cut the plastic sealing the batteries! For crying out loud, we're seniors - having our grandkids around is a rare occurrence compared to how often I have to replace batteries. No more Rayovac hearing aid batteries until the packaging changes, which probably means forever since I won't be buying any to see if the packaging changed.

I struggle to open the package. In fact I threw most of a 24 pack away. I will not buy this product again.

Opened my first pack of 312's from the VA. The Child Resistant packaging is also Senior proof, took 10 minutes to get two out. I'm going to recommend to the VA not to source this manufacturer

Batteries are great, child proof packaging SUCKS!

If you don’t have scissors handy, you’re out of luck getting a battery out of that package. Whoever designed that packaged, should be locked in a room with it with no scissors!

I have used Rayovac 312 for years and been very happy until the new packaging came out. I have arthritis in my hands. Cutting that package needs a skill saw! Then, my nail split trying to separate the two layers! I will find a different brand I guess unless you have the old packaging available for the elder generation!
