Great Repair Nailer

I own rentals and a small property maintenance company. This 20V roofing nailer is perfect for repairs and laying down a square or so of new shingles. I don’t mind the extra weight. The convenience of not dragging a compressor and hose with me to do a repair job for outweighs any cons of this product.

Great for asphalt siding/viny/metal iding/windows!

If your using this product for any other applications such as flooring/wall underlayment use screws(duh),buy a flooring screwdriver! If your using cement fiber siding use a siding nailer(duh). If you think this product will be an all purpose tool for everything I recommend you change occupations for being to naive and not following installation recommendations this may void any warranties!!!

Great as a ROOFING GUN

This thing like all dewalt tools does a great job for what it's intended for. It will not do well installing things like cement board for tile or cement siding but that's not how those should be installed anyway. As for roofing it does great and very easy to use for smaller repairs.

Convenient and powerful but heavy

I was very impressed with this nailer. The first thing you’ll notice when you unpack it is that it is a beast. It comes in at 8.2 pounds with the included 2.0ah battery and a coil of 1” roofing nails (by my scale). Loading the nails is pretty easy and you are ready to shoot. On the nose of the nailer is a wheel to control depth of drive. Even when on the lowest setting it embedded the heads into my test stud. I also tried it on a roof mockup of OSB and it worked better (see photo). Battery life was terrific, I shot over 100 nails (1” electro-galvanized) and it still showed full power (3 green bars on battery). Rapid fire was not a problem the nailer, it never hesitated. It is quite heavy. I don’t see it for all day use. But on a small repair job or on that precariously steep roof, working without a hose is very convenient. I’m sure they will continue to get lighter. But this first generation DeWalt roofing nailer is almost a home run. B+

Jam issues

I bought this with the hopes of adding it to my Dewalt tool arsenal. First time using it this past week was for a 6’ wood privacy fence to attach the pickets. It jammed over and over. Even had a nail get lodged behind the piston and had to disassemble the whole thing. May be lacking power to shoot the nails? Going to try some other brand of nails in it to see if it helps. I was using Dewalt branded nails.
If that doesn’t help plan to return.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't come with any peanut butter with all those jams. Been using for repairs jams every couple nails. Going to start the repair ordeal today.

Jammed again and again

Bought this and used to attach Hardibacker on Floor.
It kept jamming every 5~6 nails.

Great repair nailer

I bought this nailer as soon It came out to try out and is fantastic I do roofing. I use for drip edge for flashing to lay valley metal and to nail 1 to 2 squares of shingles I would like to see a flexvolt version of it lighter and able to shoot 7 nails per second a nailer that we could use all day and get rid of those hoses over all I'm very satisfied with my nailer
