This tool was a game changer for me when it launched i really wasn't trying to be atatched to a hose and a tank so this was awesome. Now I won't lie I don't feel this tool is perfect i really dont care for the friction wheel. infact I really feel milwalkis coordles coil gun is is superior in every way. But this came out first at a time when there was nothing like it. I have all kinds of aftermarket attachments that let me do siding and dry wall with it. So im more than happy with it. But I do feel it's time you guys refreshed the tool and did away with the friction driven wheel I would buy it if you did

Buy Milwaukee version

This thing jams more than it doesn’t. I’m using the recommended nails too. Their framing nailers aren’t any better. Trim nailers work great. Save your time and money and get the Milwaukee nailers. Far superior tool. I’m a professional, I know the difference. FYI.

Time Saver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have now used this cordless roofer for a variety of smaller jobs at work. Really helps shingling sheds and smaller roofs as no need for a compressor and hoses all over the place. Also helps with siding attachments to install vinyl siding. It is a little on the heavy side but aside from that meets all the requirements you would need it to.

By far one of the best purchases I've made. I've owned the same dewalt 20v roofing nailer since day one and I bought it in 2021 and have done multiple roofs with zero issue

will not hold full size coil nails

The gun does not hold a full roll of coil nails making it so you need to buy dewalt brand nails. The feed fails a lot when you do not use dewalt nails. If they would fix these issues it would be great and would purchase more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've driven about 15,000 nails with mine and have no complaints. Sometimes the coil door swings open and I have to reclose it, but otherwise no failures, no jams and no big issues. I have a bunch of dewalt 20vmax batteries already and keeping a couple batteries warm in your hoodie pocket or cargo pants pocket is a good idea, especially if you're working in cold weather, the batteries seem to drain power faster working in winter. I get about 100 nails out of the little 1.5 Ah batteries that come with the consumer drill/driver combo kits and I get about 360 nails (3 coils) out of the chunky 6 Ah battery that comes in the 2-4-6 battery kit. Those are winter numbers, temperatures near freezing. Your results may vary. The belt clip is handy but you'll want a sturdy belt for it, like a wide leather one. This unit feels like about 6-7 pounds when you have a full coil and a 6 Ah battery on there. You can hold the trigger and bump nail like on a pneumatic, and that saves battery. The motor has to wind up for a moment each time you single-nail it and that costs some extra time and power, about 2 or 3 seconds. It's best to place your work and then go in three to four nail bursts per shingle with a single trigger hold. This tool is great for working where you don't have easy power or in areas where you don't want to make a lot of noise for a compressor or a nailer. This nailer is quiet compared to a pneumatic, maybe about 95dB. I'm happy with it.

Great tool but missing parts

This is a great tool, works great. Only problem I have with it is that the Belt hook wasn't in the box. I'm not a roofer and use it for installing metal flashings. A belt hook is critical.

We do lots of roofing and siding and rhis gun is top botch! You don't have to drag your hose around and it's powerful! You can also use a tip and use it for siding
