Power, power and more power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This drill is a monster. It just eats up everything I have put it through with ease. I haven’t gotten to concrete yet but going through angle iron, OSB and dimensional lumber it just flies. I was able to bore with a spade bit with ease and cutting with a hole saw was just as easy. I saw the anti-rotation technology on the drill and thought let’s put that to the test out of the box. I put on a 4 1/4” hole saw and went to work on 3/4” plywood and never once felt like my wrist going to snap off. Anytime the drill got caught it would stop after just a slight snag and I would release the trigger and start again. It was fantastic in that regard. The light is very bright and adjustable in several angles with 3 different settings. The 3 speed adjustment helps control the power and that’s important as the power on this drill is just incredible. The size of the drill is impressive as it’s about the same length as a compact brushless drill back to chuck tip. It’s definitely got more girth as it’s about a full inch wider but I think that’s because of the more powerful motor this thing packs. My only complaint is the weight of this drill. It’s still lighter than some but when you put a 5 ah xr or a 5 ah power stack on it, the drill and battery is close to 7 lbs or over. If you bore a hole and take a break it’s not bad but for repeated drilling I can see it creating some fatigue. You get a lot of extra power but that comes at a cost of added weight. It’s definitely worth the weight for use as a larger hole saw as the anti rotation technology will save your wrist and that’s typically not a continuous one right after another like boring holes for wiring but for some applications it will be too beefy and a lighter drill will is preferred. Overall if you need speed and power this is tough to beat.

Powerful as a Slotted Drive System Drill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had several drills thru out my years working in the field but honestly never had one built like this one. Powerful but yet you’re in control. I wasn’t worried the drill would spin backwards. The drill outperform any drill I currently own didn’t require too much pressure to drill thru hardened steel. It has become one of my favorites. I’m always looking for any reason to use my 20V MAX* XR® Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. 3-Speed Hammer Drill.

Anti-rotation is a great feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Drill gun is really rugged. I used it building my deck next to my pool. The LED feature are great, adding a 20 minutes duration at a time and able to pivot it. The Anti-rotation sensor is a plus to avoid unnecessary injuries.

Hammer drill with 8ah powerpack battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] when paired with the 8ah battery this drill is the best drill ive used. i was able to complete a whole job roughing in a basement room. the speed selector is a wrist saver. the faster the better with cement flooring for joist. would highly recommend this tool to most.

Worth the money.

I've been using the DCH273 for all my hammer drill needs prior to this guy (which is fantastic) but now I'll be primarily using this. While it's not a small drill, it is small for a hammer drill and it definitely packs a punch! I also used it with a hole saw to run some pipe though 2x4's and it just ate them up without hesitation. The anti rotation system works great and I love the fact that it saves your wrist for when you do get caught up on something. My only complaint would be that it's very high pitched when drilling though concrete, but I'm being picky complaining about that.

Crazy Powerful Drill!

The anti-torque provides the confidence knowing you’re not going to rip your wrist apart. This drill will be a perfect addition to my tool bag.

More Powerful - More Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 3rd Dewalt Hammer Drill and this one has been heavily upgraded. It is much more powerful and compact, it will fit places older ones would not. The Anti-rotation feature shuts the drill down if the body starts to rotate, preventing injury. The handle reduces vibration and “feels” more ergonomic. The led light can be adjusted in one of 3 positions, plus it can be shut off or set for a 20 sec shut off or a 20 min shut off. I like everything about this new hammer drill!
