i use this drill every day in an industrial maintenance role. great power and light weight. drill wood, steel, rubber, every time. i work in a sand plant and goes through very dirty and dusty environments and doesn't skip a beat

Powerfull Smooth Drill

The brushless motor on this drill allows you to get a more powerful tool that also feels smoother to use. This drill is a great purchase to use for a variety of jobs.

Great power and handling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent hammer drilling power, easily drilled several inches into concrete slab in home basement. Even with the high torque output the recoil was almost non-existent, making it easy to use and control. The ability to reposition the 360 side handle made it very easy to get the drill into tight corners and maintain control and pressure while drilling. Consistent power at low and high speed, but did not even have to use the higher speeds to get through the concrete.

One of the best features of this saw is its brushless motor, which not only extends the life of the tool but also improves battery efficiency. This means longer run times, fewer battery swaps, and less downtime on the job. The saw pairs exceptionally well with Dewalt’s 8 Ah or 5 Ah batteries, allowing for hours of cutting through even thick materials like plywood, OSB, and framing lumber.
In terms of performance, the saw doesn’t disappoint. It delivers a smooth, powerful cut with minimal bogging, even under load. The 7-1/4 inch blade size offers versatility for a variety of cuts, and the bevel capacity up to 57 degrees allows for angled cuts with ease. Awesome but heavy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would give it 5 star but the drill is heavy compared to older models. More compact than the older ones. The anti rotation is great for stopping the drill as soon as it kicks.the drill is definitely a power house.

Best Hammer drill yet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hi power flexibility with the DeWalt 12 volt XR! I'm really enjoying using this brushless hammer drill as there's no kickback and I do not have to worry about my hands getting hurt. The drill feels good in my hand and is easy to operate. I liked it it has three different speeds on the top in 15 different gears to be able to get the job done. The battery life on this is really well also as it lasts me a good while I'll also like that it has a light to see what I'm doing in dark spaces. I highly recommend this hammer drill!

Better than previous XR model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced my older XR model. I was able to use them both same day with the same bit. This thing is a tank. It was drilling holes faster in the same blocks as my older model. It is slightly shorter than the older model, but the clutch feels more robust and clicks are more defined when swapping to and from hammer drill. I also like the redesigned handle. It has teeth to prevent it from slipping on the tougher jobs. The adjustable light is more helpful than I thought it would be. On top of a ladder in a drop ceiling being able to set the drill down and light up boxes to make joints with wire is convenient and requires one less tool. Overall a solid improvement over my older model.
