[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my hands on the Dewalt DCD1007B, and it has exceeded all my expectations. This 20V MAX XR Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. 3-Speed Hammer Drill is a powerhouse that handles a wide range of demanding applications with ease.
The performance on the brushless motor delivers impressive power and efficiency, making it perfect for both heavy-duty tasks and precise drilling. The three-speed settings allow for optimal control and versatility, whether you’re working on wood, metal, or masonry. The hammer drill function is particularly useful for creating holes in masonry and other hard surfaces. The tool's durable construction ensures long-lasting performance, even under demanding conditions. In addition, the DCD1007B features an ANTI-ROTATION system. This tool detects excessive rotational motion and automatically shuts down to ensure safety. When the system is activated, a red LED indicator lights up to alert you.
The compact and lightweight design makes it easy to maneuver in tight spaces, and the ergonomic handle ensures a comfortable grip during extended use. The anti-rotation system is a fantastic safety feature, automatically shutting down the tool if excessive rotational motion is detected.
The adjustable 3-position LED light is incredibly useful for illuminating dim work areas, and the all-metal transmission construction adds to the tool’s durability. The high bit-retention with the 1/2 in. ratcheting nitro-carburized metal chuck ensures that bits stay securely in place.
Overall, the Dewalt DCD1007B is a top-notch tool that combines power, versatility, and durability. It’s a must-have for any serious DIY enthusiast or professional contractor. Highly recommended!

One heck of an upgrade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really gotta hand it to Dewalt on this one! I've been very happy with my DCD999 for several years and I really didn't expect to notice much of a difference going to the DCD1007. I noticed right off the bat the size difference. The new model is at least an inch shorter which is great because it seems I'm airways l always drilling in tight spaces. I love the new light features too. It has 3 positions and a manual light mode. I've been using it for about a week now and I gotta say, this things powerful! That's where the anti- rotation system comes in to play. If your bit gets caught up and the drill wants to break your wrist, it senses the excessive rotation of the drill itself and shuts it down. Genius! If you're on the fence about getting this drill, go for it. You'll be glad you did.

So much torque and power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I rarely call a tool HD but this is a sturdy drill. For a cordless drill, you wouldn’t know it. I was curious has to how much kickback it had. So I started drilling twenty 1 inch holes. Drill cut those holes quickly and easily. To be clear, this was my first Dewalt Drill and am beyond impressed. So the rest of the week, I tackled some Tapcoms, couple hundred self tapping screws, drilled another dozen holes in 1/8” sheet metal. Then put together a few RTA cabinets. The led light was more than bright enough to not use a tasklight one evening.

Beast of a drill with some nice features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is a beast of a drill! With some great features. It is a big drill capable of big jobs. But not so big or heavy that it feels uncomfortable. I used it with a 5ah Powerstack battery and it felt very balanced in my hand. I used it to drill 4" holes with a big hole saw bit. And this is one area where it really shines. If you've ever drilled big holes, you are likely aware of how hard it can be on your wrists when the bit catches. The anti rotation feature on this drill cuts power when a hard catch is detected. Saving your wrist from the sudden jam and twist. I also used it for hammer drilling tapcons into concrete. The hammer function was good and strong and didn't seem as loud as my older hammer drill. Another nice feature is the adjustable light for obvious reasons. 3 speeds, with hammedrill, drilling and driving options with a clutch. As a contractor, I will get plenty of use out of this drill. It probably won't be the most used drill I own, as it is a bit heavier than my all day everyday drill. But when I need more torque and/or the safety features, it will be my goto. It will be perfect for drilling through concrete, stone, tile, block etc. and any holesaw work. Or anywhere where the added light might be of benefit. Overall I highly recommend this drill, especially for contractors and the advanced diyers. Dewalt has created another great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 20v Dewalt XR hammer drill is a powerhouse that doesn’t disappoint. It delivers impressive performance, rivaling the Flex Advantage hammer drill in both power and efficiency. One of the features I love most is the directional light—it's incredibly bright, making it easy to work in dark or confined spaces. The fact that you can leave it on for 20 minutes is a huge plus, providing continuous visibility without interruption.
Another standout feature is its compact design. The shorter body allows it to fit into tight places that other drills struggle with, making it incredibly versatile. On the safety front, the anti-rotation feature is a thoughtful addition, providing extra security during use. Overall, the Dewalt XR combines power, convenience, and safety in a way that’s hard to beat.

Cut the Cord, Not the Power: Dewalt 20V Max XR Saw
on September 8, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dewalt 20V Max XR Brushless Cordless Circular Saw is a high-performance tool that delivers the power of a corded saw in a portable, cordless format. With its brushless motor and advanced design, it’s engineered for durability, precision, and convenience.
One of the best features of this saw is its brushless motor, which not only extends the life of the tool but also improves battery efficiency. This means longer run times, fewer battery swaps, and less downtime on the job. The saw pairs exceptionally well with Dewalt’s 8 Ah or 5 Ah batteries, allowing for hours of cutting through even thick materials like plywood, OSB, and framing lumber.
In terms of performance, the saw doesn’t disappoint. It delivers a smooth, powerful cut with minimal bogging, even under load. The 7-1/4 inch blade size offers versatility for a variety of cuts, and the bevel capacity up to 57 degrees allows for angled cuts with ease. Additionally, the integrated LED light is a nice touch, providing better visibility in low-light environments.
The ergonomics of the tool are excellent. It feels well-balanced in hand, and the lightweight design makes it easy to handle for extended periods without fatigue. The handle’s placement provides good control, and the saw’s overall design promotes accuracy during cuts.
However, like most cordless saws, you’ll need to factor in the weight of the battery, which can add a bit of heft, especially with the larger 8 Ah options. That said, this is a minor trade-off for the freedom and power it offers.
Overall, the Dewalt 20V Max XR Brushless Cordless Circular Saw is a fantastic tool for anyone looking for the performance of a corded saw with the freedom of a cordless one. It’s perfect for contractors, carpenters, and DIY enthusiasts who value portability, power, and precision.
