[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have really enjoyed this sander. Used it sanding a picnic table before repainting and moving al around without the cord was great. Great power and batter life when used with the 4.0 AH battery as well!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this for 8 months and love it, except that the battery is hard to remove. Tried a second one and had the same issue.
This little guy has some serious power. I have all sorts of DeWalt batteries and even on the 1.3ah this thing is great. I can use it for long periods of time without fatigue. As long as you go up in the grits you can get your projects baby smooth. The bigger batteries make it a little awkward trying to get in tight spaces but the 3-4ah are perfect. I really enjoy the speed selection. The dust port collects pretty well on its own. I just got an attachment for my shop vac so I’m excited to try that out. Over all this is a great cordless sander. I have recommended it you everyone.
My last sander was a corded quarter sheet sander and it was (and still is) okay but this sander is everything I thought a sander should be. The quarter sheet was good for smoothing wood eventually through the finer grits of sand paper. 60 grit was the thickest that would even fit on it and forget about using it to adjust a door that hits on top or anything where some small material removal was necessary. This sander is absolutely delicate enough to also do the light finishing sanding but also has the flexibility to use it for some small stain removal or for smoothing out paint before repainting. I especially like the variable speed even if for nothing other than giving my ears a break. I didn't find it to be especially heavy even with the 5AH battery and still balanced. Best part of this sander......the dust bag is actually effective and you can see and hear a vacuuming that the sander does and sucks the dust into the bag. No, do not go and refinish a dining room table with this and wonder why your fine china is still all full of dust. It's just more effective than anything I've used in the past.
We bought this sander today and have already used it. My wife and I do woodworking for a hobby and hate to fight with cords. We now fight over who gets to use this sander versus our corded one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this sander about 6 months ago, and it has come through on all of my small projects! The 20v battery surprised me as far as how much sanding time I got with no decrease in power until the very end, and we sanded a door we built from scratch that took an afternoon and half an evening! Definitely worth it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this sander about a year ago and use it a lot. It's great for finishing, the final two sandings, but lacks power enough to remove a significant amount of wood. For that I still pull out my old corded sander.
