Its great could be better

Its a great sander it lifts alot of material so much that its dust collection cant keep up which is why im not leaving it at 5 stars. Another complaint is how heavy it can get its ideal to use this with 2ah batteries because a 5ah makes it uncomfortable at times

Great sibling to the corded version

I have this one, plus the corded version. This 20V is much better for sanding when up a ladder etc (no flailing umbilical cord), it has the same power as the corded one -but that battery pack can be an obstruction at times. The corded version really only has the dust filter restricting where it can fit, but this 20v has the dust filter and the battery pack, so I use the bigger battery packs for long stretches of flat wood, and the smaller batteries for ends/corners etc -or I just go grab the corded version. I reckon you need them both honestly, and everything is interchangeable -even replacement velcro pads when the edges wear away (or melt!)

Got the job DONE

This was a rushed purchase for me.
I found myself in the field with no power source or compressed air and a need to get a lot of surfaces abraded by end of day.
I own several Dewalt products so utilizing a tool with the same battery system seemed like the best idea.
Ergonomically, it fit well in my hand which resulted in less fatigue by the end of the day, and the battery life was surprisingly long. Fewer battery changes = fewer trips up and down the ladder.
I’m glad I made the purchase.

Sufficient for quick use

Only had this cordless model a short time and honestly haven’t put it through too much of a workout. I can say it is obviously nice going from a corded to a cordless orbital. My main issue, as is echoed in several other reviews here, is the awkward placement of the battery and dust port. While this is a frustration it is not too terrible to work with. The dust collection while not ideal, is mostly sufficient for a quick use tool. It would be nice to see some adapters for vacuum hoses, but that could also increase the awkwardness. Good tool from a great brand. Meets expectations, probably bc unlike some others I’m not expecting it to be what it isn’t.
