[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool, 1) because I am fully committed to the Dewalt 20 volt platform and 2) not having a cord is awesome. The tool performs well, feels balanced in my hand. I highly recommend this tool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the versatility of this tool. No cables to get in my way. I am able to walk around my projects get under, over, anywhere without having to page or adjust an extension cord. I also love the variable speed great for specific areas!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gives me a freedom of sanding without worrying the tangled cord. Enough power for my needs. I actually like the dust bag.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed breaking out this new toy. The motion is great and it's not too bulky for my hand. I'm thrilled to have a variable. But, I wish the speed control was somehow built into the palm, like a trigger finger or something of the sort. It's slightly awkward to stop and move the dial. But, still works great!
Super handy! This thing is great for small sanding jobs and touch up work. Those ones where the job would be done before you can go grab an extension cord and plug it in. I'm not sure I would use it for larger sanding jobs lasting +10 minutes, that is what the corded ones are for. It's not that I don't think this can do it..... its just I wouldn't want to have to deal with it slowing down just before the battery dies and having to change the battery. I've found the 3Ah to work best for me. The 4Ah and above starts to get bulky. By the time you get to the 6Ah the battery is as big as the sander and the tool is now twice as heavy. Like I mentioned already; if I'm gonna be sanding more than 10 minutes, I will break out with the corded sanders.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this tool for everything and it works soo good I’ve used it when sending compound it fits in your hand perfectly and it doesn’t cut the Sheetrock and you get great results
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Owned this for two months, and it’s its exactly what I need.
I often work away from AC power and don’t like dealing with generators if I can help it, so the obvious cordless convenience is key. Being able to finish up small jobs with this sander is great.
I used it recently to clean up some Ipe that needed repair and it along with various paper got the job done. It has more bulk than the corded versions so I probably wouldn’t use it for big jobs as my arms would probably get irritated, and the corded versions probably are more efficient time/cost wise. I do have over a dozen batteries so I’m sure it could keep it up longer than my body.
I currently have 7 corded sanders, 2 different sized belt sanders, 2 finish sanders, 2-5” orbital and 1-6” orbital sanders. I just picked up this 20V to add to my cordless collection.
I’m not throwing away the corded sanders anytime soon like I did with my drills, but it’s perfect for my needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sander has fantastic runtime on the bigger batteries. I was expecting to have to swap batteries fairly often but was pleasantly surprised that I only used one for the project.
