not the best for higher pile rugs

I bought this after using my daughter's older version and was disappointed that it didn't come with the same accessories that hers did. Also, it is very difficult to move on a higher pile carpet. otherwise suction is great.

I hate the bristles, and they dont make a roller with the fins for it, to pick up dog hair. I have a long hair dog and everytime I vacume I have to cut off the hair on the roller.
My suggestion to them is to make the roller with the fins for it. Other then that I like the vacuum so far.

lIght and maneuverable, easy to empty

This is such a great vacuum I am getting another because I have a big house and my old Hoover gets me filthy every time I empty it. This one is a no mess empty, lightweight and easy to use on stairs. I like the three vacuum settings: bare floor, rug and carpet. Simple. Long cord for ease of use. Slender for putting in closet - does not take up much room.

I love my Professional vac. I loved it so much 9 of my friends got it also. And, they love theirs too. Now, I am ready for new brush tools. Just wore them out.
When I got my vacuum I got 10 additional tools, like the platform roller, under appliance brush and etc.
Love it ....... You have to get one.

The best vacuum ever!

I don’t ever right reviews because I figure other people can write better, but I had to for this vacuum. I’ve been searching high and low for a great suction vacuum. At least one that wasn’t costing me an arm and a leg. I’ve own another shark vacuum, that is cordless but the battery life isn’t great. I bought this vacuum to work on the areas in which my dogs are roaming the most and holy cow. The first time I used it I sucked up so much dog hair that it was unbelievable and disgusting at the same time. It also picked up the dirt and dander from the dogs. The suction on this vacuum is awesome and the amount of dander and dirt it picks up is amazing. My son and I have bad allergies and I can tell the difference after I vacuum with this new toy! Thank you shark

Lasted less than 8 months

In a house with 2 adults, no pets, in less than 8 months, the belt started giving off a burning smell. Apparently, this isn't under warranty - and you can't replace the belt, you have to replace the entire bottom section. A very expensive mistake and we will not buy another Shark.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing performance!

The nv501 is an amazingly reliable vacuum for my housekeeping business. Without being too heavy or bulky it has been my favorite by far for the last 5 years. It's easy to manuver around and under furniture, performs well on all carpeted and hard flooring surfaces. Very easy to switch over to hose attachments and canister lift off is a time and effort saving feature any housekeeper would love.
I cannot recommend this vacuum enough! After daily use for 5 years it has met every expectation and surpassed much more expensive vacuums in performance every time.
