If you have the odd desire to bring your tower with you, this is it. This was the first laptop I've bought personally, so I thought the weight wouldn't be that big of an issue. This is a life style choice. This is a sit at your desk and work laptop. Not a sit in your lap on the plane or on a bus. On. The. Desk. If you need to take notes for a college semniar, get something lighter.

I do a lot of map generation using software that depends on a quality GPU and Im thrilled with the performance of this machine in rendering my data efficiently and allowing me to be productive. I wish I had picked up a smaller form factor, and that the device didnt require such a large power supply (I cant charge it with my existing docking station that provides 130W) but Ive found some ways to make due.

Old body new engine...i hope

An overall disappointing laptop. My now 4 year old Macbook still outperforms this machine. Id highly recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking for a high performance machine. Its excessively large and heavy, looks terrible, and functions poorly. The screen shutoffs after 2 minutes of not being used and its incredible hard to rectify. I bought this hoping it would be a macbook replacement, i run windows via bootcamp, and this was such a let down. Being so busy im outside the window for returns.
