[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model is a Brick House! Very mighty... but weighs almost 7lbs. I wanted a system that had at least an RTX 3500 and 32GB RAM. It's great if it is going to live on your desk 90% of the time. I would have went a different direction if I needed more portability. The big chassis allows for the components to be spread so it seems to run optimally.
It does need some configuration out of the box and although willing to help, technical support doesn't get technical enough. I had problems where I had to change the frame rate to 59.94HZ on my two external monitors to help the flickering. I also had to change the virtual memory, configure the dedicated graphics card to work with certain programs, and configure Firefox so streaming sports wasn't painful. I would have given a rating of 2 stairs if I did not figure that out, but then I finally had a helpful tecnician and had me open ESPN in Edge and it worked fine. Then I found a fix for Firefox on YouTube (link below). I prefer not to use Edge. https://softwarekeep.com/blog/speed-up-firefox-browser
I do wish it was a little lighter and it had more memory... But the Black Friday Deal was amazing and I walked away with a machine that was half the price of a machine with the same components from a different company.
Any given day, I'll have Revit, Photoshop, Premier, Outlook, 15 taps of Firefox... including one that is streaming Youtube and have had no problems since I configured everything. My only complaints are the time to configure it, no XMP in the BIOS so the RAM speed that comes with the computer cannot be fully utilized, and the weight.
The machine itself is quick and powerful, the screen is great, it is physically sturdy and beautiful. I wish I could say all was wonderful here. I want to like this machine.
I am happy with my new laptop, except:
1. It runs that awful operating system Windows 11, where so many things are broken with not good workaround available (local user accounts broken, horrible taskbar problems, notepad useless, file sharing problems, missing seconds on clock, video editor won't work without internet connection, etc, etc). Please, please, please, give us the option to upgrade to Windows 10, at least while all of these things are so badly broken in Windows 11!
2. It can't go to sleep without becoming a zombie. It is a major struggle to get this machine to actually sleep so it isn't going to do things in the background while it's in my computer bag: The sleep button won't do it, and nothing in the UI fixes it. I've been playing with powercfg and it seems the mode I'm looking for ("S3") isn't even supported in the BIOS. Hibernate mode is available, but because the machine has 128GB of RAM, it takes like a while minute to start up again! So, bottom line, every time I take my computer anywhere I have to fight it to get it to sleep, then wait a whole minute to get it to wake up again. This is progress? Please, Lenovo, fix it so the sleep button puts the machine to sleep, and the power button wakes it up again in about a second. Your older machines could all do this...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan of Thinkpads and Lenovo for decades. When I purchase a Lenovo, I know that this is high quality and going to last. I legitimately still have Thinkpads that work from the 90's on up. This latest Thinkpad was an investment, but it is future proofed as all my Lenovo purchase have been. This P16 is a beast and is handling all my Blender, Unreal Engine, and FPS rendering/gaming like the world class champ it is. The hardware is definitely optimized for those types of workloads as expected. This is my new monster and I would recommend it for anyone who needs a monster.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Every expectation I had has been met in advance reviewing its specs. And so far I haven't been disappointed. Still discovering if there are any limits, but have yet to to be found.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the laptop to run CAD/CAM software and it has not disappointed. I am able to run 3 different programs at the same time and not so much as a flinch out of this machine. I am very happy with this!
