[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best workstation laptop I have used during my 38 years in design and manufacturing. I work with complex designs, large assemblies of over 1000 components, and CAM manufacturing which is similar to workload of CAE. Great cooling, excellent graphics, and killer speed

Thinkpad P16 Gen 2 for Environmental Eng/Sci

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a graduate student in an Environmental Engineering graduate program, I began needing a PC, or something more powerful than a Macbook as soon as I hit the doors, for things like complex software, 3D modeling, and large-scale, processor-intensive simulation and data use. This machine met and exceeded my expectations, offering a rare, balanced mix of durability, portability, and power. It has been a lifesaver for my education and career, and the switch from the Macbook I had used for years was seamless. This computer has performed exactly as or better than marketed, and delivers what it promises: a high-powered, durable, mobile PC workstation for professionals of all varieties that need a top-notch PC that doesn't sacrifice quality or utility for portability.

This laptop has been very reliable as far as its battery life and ease of use throughout multiple large softwares installed. The screen display timeout is unsatisfactory. I have changed every setting that I could find but the screen goes black no matter what after 30 seconds. As I use this laptop at work, this timeout issue causes a headache for me constantly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Workhorse of a laptop. They have survived almost everything our field construction crew could do to them.
