[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice mobile workstation for work professionals but somewhat heat dissipation issue on installed NVME. I'll keep looking on its performance over time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Lenovo ThinkPad mobile workstations for controls engineering purposes for over 10 years. They have been my go-to laptop for industrial environments and have I have tested them to their limits. Six years ago, one was yanked off my work table in the middle of a plant floor and that computer is still ticking to this day.
I always battled getting the P17's to fit into my backpack. That is my only gripe that I have with the previous versions. This new P16 Gen2 has a different aspect ratio than I am used to, but I am learning to love it. It fits perfectly into my backpack and the new color scheme isn't too bad, either.
I like how fast and stable the workstations have always been and this one is not any different. I will continue to purchase Lenovos.
I do not, however, like that the docking stations come in different variations. If I am ordering a mobile workstation that needs the Thunderbolt 4 with the 300W charger and the split cable in order to run multiple monitors and charge the laptop, then offer that docking station when I am ordering the laptop. Please suggest the lesser 135W variant as a pairing. I was forced to return the two (2) docking stations that I purchased with my two (2) P16 Gen2's and go without because the price went up substantially. Maybe I will order them at a later date...

High end laptop for work and pleasure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is almost the ideal laptop for me - it has a powerful CPU, lots of RAM and storage, and a very good 3D graphics card, suitable for Machine Learning experiments and modern video games. Other options I considered were Lenovo Legion 7i, Dell XPS 16, and Mac Book Pro. I wish it would be a bit lighter, but since I do not intend to carry it around, it is not a problem for me. Battery life is as not as good as the MacBook Pro, but I was able to use it for several hours for "usual" activities, which did not involve GPU. Its charger is rather heavy, so I purchased a "slim" version (also 230W) from Lenovo. Also added 3 years of Lenovo services (premier support plus, smart performance and smart lock), given it is the most expensive laptop I ever owned.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is a definite workhorse. I've had some hardware compatibility issues, but nothing that amounts to more than an annoyance. I only wish that I had read the physical specs a little more as it is a massive laptop which, in my opinion, stretches the definition of the word mobile. It works for me, but it isn't a device I would purchase for most of my users.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased laptop to handle higher processing / graphics card need on our mobile workstation with inspection equipment, and does the job perfectly. Previous laptop with older graphics card could not handle the scanning data input.

Review for 3D Modeling Users

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stunning screen, excellent 3D performance. Lacks ports and connections so you are forced into picking up a Thunderbolt. Travel charger will not charge laptop if you are using laptop. The Thinkpad Thunderbolt I did buy did not come with a power cable to run from Thunderbolt to Thinkpad. You had to catch that little gimmick and I did not. Had to buy it separately. The screen, which is amazing, takes some getting used to. If you use a secondary screen, the icons will be tiny and you have to adjust for that. My main goal for getting this was to work more easily with large, 3D laser scan data, and this machine tears that job up. So, I am satisfied in that regard. Did I mention the screen? Yeah, it's beautiful. The sound system is good and I have not complaints there. I was surprised at the time the machine took to boot. Not bad, but longer than I expected. Casing is nice, but I do miss having ports mounted right on the laptop instead of over on the Thunderbolt.
