Great tribute to grandmother of Juneteenth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We Wonderful Barbie with great details to the outfit. Opal Lee Barbie is a wonderful addition to my collections. I am very impressed with the features and look of the Barbie. Barbie fits perfectly into my display case. Will enjoy looking at her and the knowledge that she was the grandmother of the Juneteenth movement.

The Barbie Inspiring Women Opal Lee Doll Inspires

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the Barbie Inspiring Women Doll line, it’s a great way to share with your little ones some notable woman that have changed history, so I really happy to add the Opal Lee doll to my little one’s collection. I was very impressed with how the doll looked in the box, they did a really great likeness with capturing Ms Lee’s likeness. She also works well as a play doll and adds some much needed variety to your little one’s toy chest. If she ends up being a play doll, it might be best to take away her glasses. They’re easy to lose. Overall, I think she’s a really nice doll, but she lost points for two things. The first one being her pants is that scratchy synthetic fabric, if your little one has sensory issues, that fabric might bother them. The second one is that they drew on age lines to show that Ms Opal is an older woman. The details around the eyes work, but the cheek lines are kinda odd. The little ones didn’t mind, but to me they stand out. Nice doll, some design choices that don’t quite work, but would still recommend.

The doll is so well made. It’s too beautiful to even open. I can't wait to give this doll to my niece when she sets older.

Love the gray but lose the wrinkles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Inspiring Woman dolls! They give a little history where it may be lacking in the doll community. I know that plus size dolls reflect a larger population but it seems every African American doll is plus size these days. I prefer the average figure doll and model muse but I make exceptions for historical figures in my collection. It seems the only regular size historical figure doll has been Katherine Johnson. I love her hair and have wanted to add one to my collection for a while. I love her outfit and detail of her shoes. I like her articulation but it is not an important preference for me. The articulation does allow for easier dressing of the doll. I know Opal Lee was elderly but the drawn on wrinkles could have been left off. It was no way realistic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great Barbie for older kids. It makes them interested in learning more about Juneteenth and the role that she played in it. The doll is also a lot of fun to play pretend with and it looks realistic.
