[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The doll is beautiful and has the articulated curvy Barbie body. She articulates at the at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees. She has flat feet. I like seeing mature dolls made and appreciate the salt and pepper hair. I would have loved to see Opal Lee get her own face sculpt with sculpted wrinkles instead of the screened on wrinkles with the Asha face. For my 7 year old, this will be a fun Grandma, welcomed into the doll house with open arms!

Real life inspiration doll

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 10-year-old really enjoyed playing with this Barbie. She liked the unique look, especially the curly gray hair and glasses, and thought it was nice to have a doll that’s different from the others in her collection. She had fun making up stories and was interested in learning a little about the real person behind the doll. The quality is good, and the outfit is nicely made. The only thing she mentioned was that she wished it came with an extra accessory or another outfit for more play options. Overall, it’s a lovely doll that my daughter has enjoyed adding to her Barbie collection

Learning and display of women with power

She appreciates the women of power type dolls who have accomplished something for women of color, women in general and their rights. This is as amazing to display with her collection and learning the history and back story. It’s empowering and she very much enjoys this doll

A True Leader Opal Lee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Barbie Inspiring Women Opal Lee doll does a good job of depicting the award winning activist. The doll has a curvy body and is full articulated. The gray curly hair is a good representation of her style and her outfit depicts the clothes she marched in which seem to be of good quality. The box back explains a brief biography and the photos of her at 89 years old complete the story. The only things I didn't care for were the glasses because they look like they are very thin and would break easily. Also I don't think drawing a couple of lines around her mouth made her look older.

A Beautiful Tribute to an American Hero

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Barbie Inspiring Women Opal Lee doll is a wonderful addition to the collection. The likeness to Opal Lee is well done, and I appreciate the thoughtful details, from her glasses to the “Opal’s Walk for Freedom” T-shirt. The doll feels well-made, and the packaging is attractive enough for collectors who may want to keep it displayed.
I especially like that this doll introduces children and adults to an important historical figure who helped make Juneteenth a federal holiday. It’s a great conversation starter about history, perseverance, and making a positive impact in the community.
The clothing is nicely designed, the articulation is good for posing, and the overall quality met my expectations. I would definitely recommend this doll to Barbie collectors, educators, and anyone looking to celebrate inspiring women.
