Water Filter instructions

This coffeemaker comes with a water filter, but absolutely no instructions on how to use it or where to put it. How frustrating! Where, oh where, does the water filter disc go?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Response from mrcoffee.comBy Mr. Coffee®, Consumer Care Department, December 3, 2021
Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We are sorry if there's no instruction on how to use the water filter disc. To use the water filtration system in your Mr. Coffee® Coffeemaker, please follow these steps:
1. Align the red indicator on the frame to the letter that corresponds with the month that you are using the disk for the first time. This serves to remind you to change the disk every month (approx. 30 brewing cycles). To change the disk, remove the used disk, insert new disk into the frame. NOTE: For optimum results, use the water filtration system with a permanent filter. 2. Rinse the water filter in fresh water before use. 3. Follow Adding Water and Coffee Instructions. 4. Position the filter on top of the brew basket, and brew according to your particular model's brewing instructions. 5. When you are done brewing your coffee, rinse the water filter with fresh water. Do not put your water filter in the dishwasher
Hope this helps. Have a nice day!

Purchased this about a month ago and recently realized that the auto off doesn't actually work. I made a pot of coffee one morning and the next day went to make another and the pot was still on.

Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We are sorry to hear that the auto-off doesn't work. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. This Mr. Coffee® 12-Cup Coffeemaker does not have an automatic shut off so we recommend unplugging it when not in use. Please note that all of our simple switch coffee makers do not have the automatic shut-off feature, while all of our programmable coffee makers have the automatic shut-off feature.
If you have other questions or concerns, please contact us directly or fill in the "Contact us" link provided below. We hope this helps. Have a good day!

Traditional works best

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have not had a traditional drip coffee pot in many years, I've been wanting to start brewing a big pot and putting it in the refrigerator for iced coffee. My husband perfers hot coffee so I make 10 cups atleast daily, he will drink about 6 and then I'll take the remainder and pour in my jug in the refrigerator, the next morning I'll drink my iced coffee and just repeat the cycle over again. 12 cups is alot of coffee but on the weekends when we are home we tend to drink more so it's perfect, you don't have to run the full 12 cups every time just add the amount of water for the cups you want and let it be. I'd say it takes about 10 minutes from start to finish to brew a pot of coffee, I can take the pot off at any point either during or after the brew and pour from the pot and place it back on and it'll keep brewing more for you. It's a simple and easy item to use and I love it, I wait for it to cool off after it's morning brew and then rinse out the pot and fill up the water and get the coffee filter and grounds ready for the next morning so I only have to press the power button and we have freshly brewed coffee from home in minutes.

A very simple drip coffeemaker.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Mr. Coffee 12-cup coffeemaker is a very handy, everyday tool to have around in the kitchen. Doesn't take up too much counter space. A very simple, minimal design, featuring a translucent window to gauge how much water is put inside. Fully plastic and very lightweight. It can make cleaning a simple process. This also means a reduced probability of scaling, as it frequently happens on metal products. Coffee comes out rather hot as expected. Heating surface helps keep the coffee hot. The coffee that comes out is, I can taste the coffee bean that the drink came out of, and not some utterly burnt mess. Coffee tastes great and comes out hot. Highly recommend.

Poor Design
on June 8, 2022

I have used Mr. Coffee Automatic Drip coffee makers for years. This current basic model is a poorly redesign of a previous model. I echo the other reviews regarding the decanter handle: It is only anchored at one point to the glass decanter body. The decanter handle is noticeably weak right out of the box. While drying the decanter, one has to be extremely careful to avoid breaking the handle and risk being lacerated by broken glass.
The decanter lid as currently designed collects condensate on the inside of the lid. When pouring coffee in to a cup from just a few inches away, hot condensate will at times pour out of the decanter on to the skin of the hand holding the cup. This is another poor design and also presents a risk for injury.
The hinged cover on the top of the coffee maker body has two molded corners on the inside near the hinge. When the cover is opened after brewing, hot condensate which has collected on the underside of the cover runs down and collects in these molded corners. If the cover is subsequently closed, this pooled liquid will drip down on to either the decanter or the hot plate.
There is really nothing positive to say about this current design. The previous version of the Mr. Coffee decanter was for years a functional and problem-free design.

1. No intuitive assembly; 2. Model Number on the base plate is wrong; 3. No instructions, extra parts included; The quality and reputation expected of a Mr Coffee product is substandard, if it fails to make my çoffee, I will return it and find a better quality machine.

Dumbest carafe design ever

I have more or less used a similar model of Mr. Coffee pot for the last 5 years and been very happy. This new model is terrible, while it brews great there is a fatal flaw with the carafe lid that allows condensation to drip outside of the carafe and onto the counter every time you pour a cup.
